Lot of people unhappy with him down here in Oz. Not just because of the war, but also because of new workplace regulations that he's introduced in the last couple of years. Looks like he might lose the next election because of it. The election will be held within the next six months.

He passed 400 homers this season, and will likely finish 2nd all-time in this category behind the aforementioned Foxx.

MIKE PAZ, 2B, LOUISVILLE COLONELS, 36 Years Old - Paz has become the posterboy for players who should have called it quits. He obviously can't let go.

LARRY BRYAN, 1B, MILWAUKEE BREWERS, 34 Years Old - Bryan only has a couple years left, but he still can be found near the top of numerous categories. Hopefully the sale of the Brewers to investors in Atlanta will get him to the postseason before he retires.

This may be his last season, though, as he has hinted that he wants to join the Air Force even though he's getting up there in years. I got it from legendsport, but I don 't import them directly. They don't import too well. I create them based on the stats in the database.

9/27/1938 - GAME 1 PILGRIMS 3 - PHILLIES 5

Satchel Paige held the Phillies to only 5 hits, but they made them count, putting 5 across the plate. The Pilgrims managed more than twice as many hits, but fell short by 2 runs to the upstarts. Pinky Higgins set the tone for Philly with a homer and 3 RBI.

9/30/1938 - GAME 3 PHILLIES 8 - PILGRIMS 3

Philadelphia broke open a 1-1 game with 3 runs in the 6th, then slammed the door shut with a 4 run 9th after Boston pulled within 1. Rightfielder Joe Gallagher led the way with 6 RBI. The Pilgrims are shellshocked.

10/1/1938 - GAME 4 PHILLIES 2 - PILGRIMS 1

Paige was in top form again, allowing only 3 hits, but again it wasn't enough. A key error by John Beckwith allowed the Phillies to put two on the pond just in time for Joe Medwick's triple. The 2 runs were all they would need as Leon Day was able to hold the defending champs to only one run, enough to dethrone them in a shocking 4 game sweep.
