The Gimp and Logo Making Tutorials

Anyone using Gimp to do logos? If so, would anyone be willing to share their 'trade secrets' with the rest of us in regard to setting up a generic 'circle-in-a-circle' logo?

I'm trying to start to do some of my own, but I'm having a little trouble getting started.

Here is one that I have used, but doing the lettering is pretty hard with the GIMP.... unless you know a secret too?

The text file comes from another thread and it is helpful.
