Scouting Problems

I'm in a game where I imported major league rosters and assigned myself as the manager of the Mets. It says I have scouts, but for some reason I can't get them to do anything. I can assign them tasks on the assign task page, but I can't tell them to scout a specific player or scout the draft pool, for example. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

When you took control of the Mets, were you signed on as commissioner and did you just click Act As in the top right of the screen? If you did, perhaps you got the message seen below. You are only acting as the commissioner and making the Mets do certain things; you are not actually in charge if that is the case. Make sure you are actually employed as Mets manager. Stay on as commissioner but go to Available Jobs and force Willie out of office. Make him your hitting coach. Oh, that job is taken already . . .

Is this the first time you've played with scouts? Have you been able to do this successfully in other 2007 games?

Scouting draft pools is assigned from a draft pool page, I think, not from the scouting tasklist. Scouting a player is done by going to the opening page of the Player Profile and clicking on the 'scouting' button at the bottom, just to the right of the 'action' button.

The problem is, I don't have the scouting button when I go to a players page or look at the draft pool etc.

Then that sounds like a job for Tech Support. If you report this down there (presumably providing a link to this thread), remember that things work slowly in that section, and that bumping tends to delay responses, unlike how it works up here.
