I have to shuffle off to bed so I'll post the photo finishes and update accounts tomorrow. If you can't wait, the results are on my website.

I think that we have our first Zippy winner - and he'll take a boat load of cash with too!

Here's a quick link to what happened

http://www.royalexplorersclub.net/subpage07IF.html

Zippy didn't do too bad. (But then, how far back can a horse fall in only three furlongs.)

I'll sort the betting out in the morning.

Congrats to Frank for hitting the Zippy pool. He missed most of the rest of his bets but winning that Zippy pool should easy the blow of that.

I did pretty well this week hit 5 of my bets with one scratched so I should make some money but it will probably only be good for second overall.

Mk-Rff-TG Trifecta £881.25
Mk-Rff-TG-Mt Superfecta £1,762.5
Mk-OM Daily Double £80.00

Mookta establishes new track record:

Series rookie Mookta shaved 1.7 seconds off the track record previously held by Irish Elegance as he breezed to a 3 1/2 length victory. Zippy Chippy finished 2.65 seconds and 16 lengths off that mark.

India Flyer - Pool B
The finish:

1. Our Maizcay
2. Dubai Millennium
3. Seattle Slew
4. Shergar
5. Bayardo

Code:

Payoffs for £1 bet:
                                       Win Place Show
Our Maizcay £11.00 £5.00 £3.00
Dubai Millennium £4.25 £3.00

OM-Mk Daily Double £80.00

Irish Elegance Falters:

Irish Elegance had turned in the record time at each of the first two India Flyers. This year, the speedster stumbled out of the gate and never caught up to the lead pack finishing 4 1/2 lengths behind Our Maizcay. It was a disappointing run for a pool that contained two of the fastest horses at the quarter mile. The winning time was only good enough for 8th best over the three year history of the Flyer.

India Flyer - Pool C
The finish:

1. Seabiscuit
2. Citation
3. Sir Barton
4. Secret Savings
5. Secretariat

Code:

Payoffs for £1 bet:
                                Win Place Show
Seabiscuit £5.25 £2.25 £1.75
Citation £3.50 £2.00
Sir Barton £2.00

SB-Ct Exacta: £32.00
SB-Ct-SB Trifecta £800.00
SB-Ct-SB-SS Superfecta £1,600.00

Seabiscuit Tops Field:

Five year old Seabiscuit won handily over a good field to win for the first time in 1907 and push himself into second place on the Explorers Cup leader board.

India Flyer - Pool D
The finish:

1. Mr Prospector
2. Peter Pan
3. Dancing Brave
4. Affirmed
5. War Admiral

Code:

Payoffs for £1 bet:
                                    Win Place Show
Mr Prospector £8.00 £4.00 £2.75
Peter Pan £5.25 £3.25
Dancing Brave £4.75

MP-PP Exacta: £81.50
MP-PP-DB Trifecta £2,037.50
MP-PP-DB-Aff Superfecta £4,075.00

Mr Prospector Wins His First:

Six year old Series veteran Mr Prospector entered victory lane for the first time and did so in spectacular fashion. The Flyer is usualy decided at the gate but Mr Prospector broke fourth behind Peter Pan, Dancing Brave and Affirmed. The old boy caused a stir as he dug in over the short course and passed all three just catching Peter Pan at the line.

India Flyer - Pool E
The finish:

1. Kingston Town
2. Sun Chariot
3. Flying Spur
4. Spend A Buck
5. Six Perfections

Code:

Payoffs for £1 bet:
                                     Win Place Show

Flying Spur £2.75

KT-SC Exacta: £59.25
KT-SC-FS Trifecta £1,481.25
KT-SC-FS-SAB Superfecta £2,962.50

Veterans Day:

Three of the top four finishers were six year olds as Kingston Town notched his first win since the 1906 Irish Derby and Sun Chariot finished in the money for a second time in three races.

India Flyer - Pool F
The finish:

1. Hindoo
2. John Henry
3. Gallant Fox
4. Falbrav
5. Pretty Polly

Code:

Payoffs for £1 bet:
                                Win Place Show
Hindoo £7.75 £4.50 £2.75
John Henry £5.25 £3.00
Gallant Fox £3.50

Hin-JH Exacta: £74.50
Hin-JH-GF Trifecta £1,862.50
Hin-JH-GF-Fal Superfecta £3,725.00

Slow Motion Finish:

Hindoo, John Henry and Gallant Fox topped the slowest field of the day with seven year old Pretty Polly nearly breaking into the money. Even slow poke Zippy Chippy turned in a time that would have beaten five horses in this field.

Full results can be viewed here.

Way too many to-close-to-call races this weekend. I'll be kinder in South Africa. Only four pools and there will be a more clear cut group of potential money horses in each race Other than Seabiscuit, there were absolutely no safe bets in India.

On the upside, the race between the bettors may prove to have more people in it later in the season which would be a nice change of pace.
