Matt -- I'm working on importing ratings and such into the MLB/NCAA/highschool set -- once I get that done, I'll advance to March 2, turn everything on, clean up the mess that results from it, and release. I think we should be okay then.

That's not what Erich told me

The more I look at the comments on the board, I think Haveband took my stuff from last year and said it was his own. All the name issues and mistakes that are showing up were in my set from last year.
Plus there was lots of crash issues in the work you two did last year, which I am not blaming you, I know the story behind it and know why the file was unstable. All I am saying is there's a very high chance that it's the cause of the issues you're still having today.

What I'm saying is that the only things that have been taken from our set last year were vitals -- it's a new universe that was created, and the only thing that was imported were player ratings. Literally I exported the players to a txt document, and reimported them in a new universe. So unless giving Jacque Jones a 42 rating in centerfield causes crashes that I don't know about, it's not the problem.

And no offense taken, just trying to explain.

Also I would hope Erich's not mad about HB using his set, since it was mine as well anyway. But oh well.

Cubby, let me know if there's anything else you need from me that can help you out at all. I'm still kind of a newbie at this sorta stuff, but it interests me and would be willing to do what I can to get this out quicker for everyone waiting.

If you just imported the ratings then why all the problems with historical stats? I've never had any issues getting the 2006 stats to import in before.

Me either -- what I did on this set was try to import a historical league, but as you know once you're already in an existing universe, that option to "keep stats from present year" or whatever goes out the window. However now that you said that, I just realized that I think I SHOULD technically be able to just start a completely NEW universe, keep existing stats (2006 on the history screen), then import the players. I'm pretty sure that should work and I'm surprised I didn't think about that before.

Either way we'll have to re-do history as it seems to be screwed up now, so that should fix it. Gracias!

Another MAJOR problem with the rosters....

The Cubs, especially their prospects, are waaaay too good. Just a heads up to those playing...if you are looking for realism, make some changes.

Yea all that you should have to do is create a brand new universe, fill up the teams so there's enough players to match what you have now in your set. and then export and import the txt and csv files. and then you have all your historical stuff right, then its just a matter of combining your stats txt files if you have an additional stats to import back into the game

Also you may wanna load the stats txt's into excel and compare things if you are going to use Murmur's Japanese stuff again. Because he has guys like Ichiro and Dice K as retired players for the Japanese leagues, so you will need to edit the player numbers to get those stats pointed at your players. and then finally delete those players from the retired list. It's a long process but not too difficult

any comments on this, will it effect playing time? I would just like to know so I know whether I want to take the time to go through everybody and adjust it.

japan leagues

I think i'm still doing something wrong. I'm opening v3 as a saved league, it says 20 leagues are in the file. I go to global, I see 18 leagues under US, and none under Japan. Do I need to turn Nipon ON?

Sorry for not making it clear then let me try again....

If I go into a player and click on "editor", then scroll down to where it lists the "players Experience" at positions, all Batters only have experience at Pitcher not their ordinary position. ie: Ivan Rodriguez has 183 games played at Pitcher and 0 at catcher.

That might be the case, but this is happening in the first simmed season, i.e. Cubby right out of the box, they are contending.

The link in your sig isn't working Cubby. It's sending me straight to the filefront homepage.
