Creating yourself

Does anyone ever create theirself to see how they turn out? Any exciting results? I would love to read some stories about this.

You should follow this thread in the Dynasty Reports. It's cool.

Well, I don't have OOTP5 yet--I'm still on STB2k3. But I haven't played my historical league at all since I started a fictional one and changed many of the names to those of my high school classmates, college buddies, relatives, work mates, etc.

"I" am in the Indians' starting rotation, as is a friend from work. My uncles are on the Indians minor league teams, several of my high school classmates are Indians players, etc. You get the idea. One of my good buddies from high school is playing for the Rangers and is the league batting average leader. Cool!

This is huge fun. I wonder if I'll ever play with "real" players, in STB2k3 or OOTP5.

Each year during the draft, I change the names of various draft pool guys to the names of people I know, edit them to have halfway decent potential, and then let them get scooped up by the draft. It's really neat to see how their major league baseball careers have unfolded a couple of years down the road.

I really enjoy creating various players in my leagues. Friends, family, people I make up etc...

I always create myself and friends. Gives me something to continue to check-up on once I get annoyed at some things lol.
