1977 Historical sim(3 spots left) please check-in forum

- Name: Diamond Legends Baseball (DLB)
- URL: pending
- Type: Historical Sim (circa 1977)
- Rules: No Salary Cap, Complete Financials (No Owner restrictions, No revenue sharing), 1977 rules (AL DH, rule 5, amatuer draft, etc)
- Teams: 28 (MLB Structure)
- Version: OOTP 2007

I need all members with teams to follow this link: http://www.simsportsnation.com/forum...read.php?t=422 register for the forum and check-in with info that I ask for.

This was orginally a thread to gauge interest in a 70s/80s league historical sim style. After less than 18 hours I am got over half the teams with people ready to run that fanchise. Also after a days debating and input from interested parties, I have decided to have the league first season be 1977.

Settings and Rules will be finalized in a day or two. Website should be up by weekend.

If you would be interested in something like this please reply and list the team your interested in and email along with AIM. Please only reply if you serious interest and this era is what you are looking for (please no...i would if you start in mid-90s).

I have lots of experience in OOTP, though I don't post much here. I am currently in a fictional lg (WBH), a future year (FOD-2010) and an historical lg (RBL-1996). This would be my first attempt as a commish, so if anyone gets excited about playing in something other than current rosters and late 1990's sims...by all means your help is welcome.

Year:1977

I'd be happy to join...! I'd like to be the Cleveland Indians, and would want to start sometime during the mid 70s...maybe 1974?

I'd be interested. I'd like the Yankees if possible. I'm in the FOD with you as well. I'm the owner of the Angels.

I'm in FOD and RBL with you, Cleveland in both. Rangers in Suicide-Squeeze. I have interest regardless of when you start. 1960 would be a good start date using Gambo or Lahman...

I've got 2nd dibs on the Yankees. After that I guess Oakland (assuming we have no cap) and if we have cap or are using 'real markets' I'll go with the Mets.

Yankees if Baloo doesn't end up taking them.
Oakland if using real rosters but no financials
Mets in all other scenarios

Would definitely be interested, and would like the Red Sox if possible. As for years, I would prefer early 80's.

I have updated listing of those interested and to answer one of the questions...there will be no salary cap and real finacials mirrored to that era. I will turn off scouting system as well.

It also is looking like we already have a host for a league webpage lined up, so things are moving well at this point.

Any other questions let me know...this is good early response fellas!!!

I saw up above that the Yanks were taken by Eric Myers. So can I get dibs on any of the following:

1) Mets
2) Detroit
3) Baltimore
4) Angels
5) Cubs

I'd play, this is the era I grew up in and have fond memories of. The earlier the better, I'd like to see the A's and Big Red Machine in action.

I would like in order of preference: Dodgers, Orioles, Royals.

I'd be interested in the Twins, anytime in the 80's preferably mid 80's.

I'm in FOD and RBL with you as Rangers and Tigers respectivley...I'd be interested, and the teams I'd like in order of prefferability

1. Detroit
2. California
3. Philadelphia
4. Houston
5. any available

I'd also like to start in the early to mid 70's but any time frame would not make me not want to participate...but the further back the better as far as I'm concerned.

I forgot to pick a time period. I'd prefer the early to mid 70s. That's the period I grew up with. Though I'd be happy if we went earlier or a little later. Heck, since I'm the Mets, going earlier gets me Seaver and Ryan.

Sounds like fun.
I've been toying with the idea of joining an online league for quite some time. I've played ootp off and on for a few years now and love the game. So, if you'd be willing to let an online rookie (who'd be putting a lot of effort and attention into his team) into the league... well, my choices amoung the remaining teams are as follows:

1. Baltimore
2. Milwaukee
3. Kansas City
4. St. Louis
5. any other available team

Email: ootpfan73@yahoo.com
Thanks

Interested in start time anywhere between mid-70s and mid 80s and would like either the Orioles or the Padres, whichever is still available. My name is David Hawkes and my email is davidchawkes@aol.com (aim is 'davidchawkes'). I am in a present-day league (MLBD), and a 1915 historical league.

I'd be interested in this project. If we start in 1977 or later, I'd love to run the Seattle franchise. Earlier than that, and I'd take Milwaukee (the other Seattle franchise), if it's available. Otherwise I'll run any franchise.
