New 2 game

I am new to the game and went and downloaded CFhb_v2.1 for the rosters...it says to unzip to the saved games folder. I DO NOT have a saved games folder...do I need to start a new game and save first???

What are the best MODS for this game?

thanks

Check in your My Documents folder for the saved games files.

Bucman is correct - make sure you are looking in the right place. Not C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive; that is where the program is stored. Your game data, including saved games, is in My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\.

You should see a saved_games folder in the data folder. I am not familiar with that roster set, but if it works like some others, everything will be in a folder with a name that ends in .lg; move that into saved_games. When you start OOTP again, click Load Game and look for the name in the window that pops up.

As far as what are the best mods, you are not going to get a straight answer from me!

Whatever they are, they are certainly available at these sites:

http://www.ootpmodsquad.com

Have fun!

The location will depend on the mod; for many it won't matter where you place it, but for some (that OOTP looks for in a particular place), you'll need to put it in the right folder. Roster sets normally go in the saved games folder, obviously- for other types of mods, you'll surely find instructions with the documentation.

I got MLB07_v3 roster set that I am using...its awesome and has all managers and all that good stuff...only thing, it crashes before spring training.

Is there a roster mod out there besides this one that has all managers?

My understanding is that CubbyFan's latest update will have correct managers. Due to be available for download within the next couple of days, assuming no problems.

One last stupid question:

I accidentally hit Ask AI to set up minor league system in the transactions menu. Now all my minors are gone and I can not advance. I tried hitting fill team with fictional players, but nothing.... need help fast. And I will be happy and leave you all alone.

Unhappy

Okay, this is the first time I've ever heard THAT one! Sadly, my advice would be to post this in Tech Support to see if the gurus down there have a miracle cure.

I think it's just a display issue- I've heard about this before, but I don't remember where... if I'm remembering correctly (not always a sure thing) what I read somewhere else, the players are still there, but they just aren't being displayed. Jordan- will the game let you sim forward a day? Does it give you an error message saying that there aren't enough players on one of your minor league rosters when you try to advance a day? Can you try switching through a few screens and see if the players are displayed again, or try quitting and relaunching the game?

You might be able to find another thread on the issue by searching the forums, but I'm not sure what you should search for, maybe 'disappearing minor league players'.

He didn't say his players were missing (which I have heard before); he said his minors were missing. I assumed that meant the leagues had vanished. If you're right that it's only his players that've gone walkabout, then if your ideas don't work, here are two others:

1) Clear your filters. Even if you don't think you have any filters set. Even if it SAYS you don't have any filters set. Just humor me.

2) Ask the computer to set up your minors for you, then sim forward one day and see if they reappear.

My minor leagues are empty...I can not continue because I do not have any players on the minor league teams. But if I do a search for Top Prospects...it will ist my players that I have.

Does not matter...I quit and restarted.

I've gotten corrected for saying this before, but I'm going to repeat it anyway: If you have FaceGen enabled you should assume that the minimum RAM requirement jumps from 512Meg to 1 Gig. Not everyone, but a fair number of people reported problems with FaceGen at RAM sizes below 1 Gig.

Beyond that, the site you made the purchase from should list the minimum requirements for your system. My machine falls well short of the minimum recommended for Macs, but (aside from loading very slowly) runs at an acceptable speed regardless.

If you're having speed problems there's a list of four or five things you can do to speed up your machine. Ask 1998 Yankees to dig it up for you if you can't find it with a search (he lives for that kind of stuff). And shut down all of your other programs while you're running OotPB — I do.
