DFA/Waiver guidance
This is probably not appropriate for this forum. Perhaps a moderator can correct me. I am looking for guidance from OOTP2007 commissioners. I have a league filled and about to start. We will be doing 7-day sims. Could somebody recommend appropriate waiver and DFA durations. Do you set them at 7 days and 10 days respectively or do you go 3 and 10 as OOTP2007 has the "pullback" option?

I would make it 8 on waivers in order to let a team pull back a player if he is claimed. The DFA time should be more than the sim time also, so that a team owner can move him to a roster before the next sim. Hope this helps.

We do 8 day sims with 17 days in DFA. If you do 7 day sims, it messes with the DL. The 17 days in DFA gives people 2 sims to get their stuff together.

We do 7 day sims and currently do 14 days for waivers and 21 for DFA.
Realistically, there's no difference between 8 days for waivers and 14 days. They're still not going to see the results until the next sim. Anything under 8 days for waivers is too short because the players will clear before anyone sees they're on waivers. To get around the DL issue, I allow owners to PM me instructions when a guy is coming off the DL. I do this rather than switch to 8 day sims because I like simming on the Monday-Sunday schedule. |
