Talking WOB 2.0 Template Version Released!!

Due to popular demand, a template version of World of Baseball 2.0 has been released. Plesae view the readme for the original WOB2.0, as not much has changed in this version, although I did fix quite a few minor errors with stadium capacities, dimenions, names, etc...

Here is the link:

Will post this to my website today, but as a zip file to avoid the confusion with the .z format...

I am having a problem starting a game using this template because the Appalachian League has an uneven number of teams in it. The problem is if I were to delete a team, a major league team would lose an affiliate. Is there a work around for this?

Same thing happened to me but I just clicked on OK and kept going. It still crashed later on when simming though. Maybe the damn thing is just too big?

I've run into the same problem with the Appalachian League. Is there any hope of a fix on the way?

I there going to be an updated WOB 3.0 coming soon? I'm itching to get into this but the crashes make it impossible.

I agree, I'd really like to use this set, but this uneven number of teams thing is making it impossible to use real life league structures. Is Matter around any longer?

This will be a terrific universe when fixed --- perhaps adding a fictional team to even out the odd team leagues would work --- new game scheduling would need to be generated though (I believe). It's unfortunate that it's just not usable yet.

What exactly is going wrong? I have played many leagues that have odd amounts of teams in the minors/ The key is finding the right schedule to use. is this in saved game, Quick start or Template mode? and what leagues are causing the probelms?

This is a template, and when generating the league, the game will not allow you to proceed because some leagues/divisions contain an uneven number of teams.

mmmm, that does make it a bit trickier. There's no real players attached to this is there?if I am remembering correctly the players are fictional?

If so, the easiest way is to delete a team rather than add a team. Adding a team usually turns them all into fictional teams i think.

So...

Step 1 delete a team to even up the levels
Step 2 start the game
Step 3 go in and re add the missing team
Step 4 erase the current schedule
Step 5 either create a new schedule or load one of the existing ones.

I thought there was a version of this floating around somewhere as a saved game though? because i swear i have taken a look at Matter's work without having to use the workarounds

Dola, nevermind I had looked at version 1.5 which came in .lg form

if anyone's not comfortable using the 5 step method, and if Matter doesn't have time to get to it.... Let me know and I can throw it into .lg form later on tonight.

Trola, it's already been done, Go to Padsfan's site and download the 163mb version under Universe packages and you'll have it already set up in .lg format
