schedule edit utility help
Does anyone know of any available utility or method for adjusting the schedules or importing the actual MLB schedules for a given year?
So far, it looks like the schedule generator, at least for the years 77-92, that generating a schedule produces season openers always with NYY at Mil and Cleve vs. Det. no matter how many times I have it generate a schedule. Also, I rather enjoy the quirks of a schedule that doesn't have the entire league having the same off-days. I don't mean to be in any way complaining about the scheduler...its great that its there... I was simply wondering if any alternative methods yet to schedule creation other than editting the schedule game by game using the in-game editor. Actually, its kinda fun to me to play around with the schedule editor and all, but if there is a quicker way I'd enjoy being able to use it...especially since editting a 162 game schedule to my liking for repeated seasons will probably become something I wouldn't enjoy at all. |

yes...something like that exactly....but does it also work for OOTP5?
er...at least as far as I know, that is... I downloaded it from baseball sim central before I ever posted and read its read me file...I haven't attempted to use it for OOTP5 yet and this is the first OOTP version I have played so I don't know exactly what the stickware program is like...but from its description it does sound like the kind of thing I am hoping to find for OOTP5 |

Actually, I don't think it was boneheaded at all. The utility was made for version 4. It is always a good idea to find out if the utility will work for that versions before using it.

As to your question specifically, no, there is nothing available at present which can import schedules (actual or fictional). Considering that I have ALL the actual historical MLB schedules from 1876-2003 just waiting for such an import utility, I'm hoping one will appear at some point. I have had a couple of e-mail exchanges with Markus about having some form of importer built into OOTP, and have a basic format sorted out based on the schedule files I have. But I haven't heard anything more about it in awhile now unfortunately. However, this is understandable, as Markus probably has far more important things to deal with in OOTP5 at the moment. Perhaps when the first major update to OOTP5 nears there'll be possibility of an included schedule importer... |

Thanks, I enjoy the crap out of the schedule generator!

Hey Dave, how ya doing? Good to see you around here again. It's been a long time since I've e-mailed you, but I guess I can do it again.
![]() And as you can see, your schedule generator is still very popular! |

The schedule generator is fantastic!
I've spent hours and hours in past games working out scheduling and programming the schedule into the game. This is a much better way to go about setting up a season. Also, I think I will make use of it for HighHeat 2003 if I ever get back around to playing that again. It occurred to me that I could take the text of the schedule report, do find/replace functions on converting teams to their High Heat number representations, replacing '@' signs with commas, days of the week with sequences of commas and spaces...and other find/replace modifications...the end result i get is a comma delimitted data text file I can import into a spreadsheet or database program...after adding a few numbers and changing a couple of things around i can then import the schedule into highheat via DangerZ. All in all, the process doesn't seem to take so long and is a lot easier than than doing a 162 game highheat schedule manually. |
