Longtime league - NOBL has 3 openings

One of the oldest OOTP leagues (we even predate OOTP) NOBL (www.nobl.net) is again on the recruiting trail. We are entering our 16th seasons and are returning 21 GM's. Are you looking for a league that has a lot of longtime GM's who care about there teams and the league...then look no further.

The league:

6.0/6.5
Fictional
24 teams
85 mill cap - all financials on
No Rule V
10 rd draft
Ratings/Talents 1-10

We have a good balance of power and teams have risen and fallen over the years. We also see a reasonable level of player movement via trades and FA classes. We are currently wrapping up 2016 where an expansion team from 2010 won it all and are now finishing up hall of fame voting (doing catch-up voting since we suspended HOF voting for 5 seasons).

If you join now, you will have 1 week to do your extensions and then prepare for the winter meetings. We will have a couple of scheduled chat's before we move onto the draft and FA which will get the trade rumors moving

Onto the teams

Texas

AL Central (3rd) 80-82
Key Players: Guy Miller (CF), Chad Pettigrew (IF), Albert Fernandez (IF), Carlo Zaragosa (SP) Narisco Gonzalez (SP) & Stephen Alderson (SP)
Key Prospects: Gonzalez, Zaragosz & Martin Bahe (3B)
Farm: Ranked 9/24
Summary: An up and coming young team that is essentially ready to turn the corner. Jump hard into this years big FA class or make a key trade and they could challenge 2015 NOBL Champion Kansas City for the Division.

Cleveland & San Fran are also open - but I have a meeting and will need to provide details later this afternoon

Email me at Commish@nobl.net if interested

Are you one of those guys that keep joining leagues that fail? Well ... this isn't one of those leagues. The NOBL has been around as an OOTP league since 2002 and is about to enter it's 17th season. Over the years we've had eleven different teams win the World Series and only two teams have ever won back-to-back titles. So we've got staying power and we've got parity.

Our rules are fairly simple and straightforward. We don't have participation points and nobody is going to nag you about writing articles (although we'll be happy if you do). We don't have special feeder leagues, restricted free agents, or other mumbo jumbo. The commissioner isn't going to throw dice to determine the outcome of anything. We like to keep the rules simple and focus on baseball.

Our ownership group is probably older than in most other leagues. Our youngest owners are still in college and our oldest guy is in his eighties. The rest of us are somewhere in between. Most of us are very experienced OOTP players, but we're not rabid sharks. This is a good league for experienced players or newbees.

Texas is filled

Cleveland

AL Central (2nd) 81-81
Key Players: SS Quinto, OF Slayton, SP Abdullah
Key Prospects: Juan Urias (RF), Anthony Weil (P) & Matthew Donaldson (P)
Farm: Ranked 3/24
Summary: A team with a bunch of aging vets that are FA's to be so cleaning house is an option. Cleveland also has a strong farm system with 2 AAA SP that are labeled as MR's in game. Flipping the role might just make them #1. They also are packed with talented position players with great eye's. This team could use their cap room to compete this year, but their staff is in need of some reinforcements and rookie's might not be the best way to do that short term. I'm really interested in seeing how the new gm will manuever this team, with a talented Texas team nipping at its heels

The Giants have the 2nd overall pick in the upcoming rookie draft and the Indians have the 3rd best farm system. They are both very desirable teams.

The Giants

NL Midwestl (4th) 52-110
Key Players: Pedro Grillo (OF), Dan Devera (C), 25 mIllion Dollar Man - Berry Beard (SP), & George Sparks (SP)
Key Prospects: Alphonso Arguelles (AAA IF) - He could be a great one
Farm: Ranked 15/24
Summary: Well, biggest plus is you draft #2 overall - but its for a reason. This team is not strong at the major league level. The good news is you have 16 million in 1 bad contract expiring and could eat another 25 million if you chose to. The team is not without strong players, Sparks, Devera, and Grillo are good young players that make up a solid nucleus. The rest of the team needs some overhauling though.

we have one potential GM (team TBD). Still time to jump in and grab the last opening before we proceed to next season in a week.
