Young, budding team available in BSL
The website is available at mvn.com/bsl
The Boys of Summer League, currently in August of 2009, has the Toronto Blue Jays open. The Blue Jays currently sit at 53-55, second in the American League East. They are a very young, high-quality team who can dominate. To apply, please e-mail me at Their payroll is 58M, a lot of it tied up in Carlos Delgado's contract, which is $13.5M and expires this year. Follows is a recap of their major league roster and then minor league prospects: C Jordan Newton (age 23) and C Guillermo Quiroz (age 27) are in a platoon. Newton is an amazing LHP hitter, and Quiroz has a .905 OPS. 1B Daric Barton (age 23) is hitting .329 with a .844 OPS. 2B Jose Castillo (age 28) is hitting .352. 3B Ryan Zimmerman (age 24) is hitting .318 with 13 HR. SS Basil Anguiano (age 24) is hitting .293 with 15 HR, .373 OBP and has 100 eye. SS Erick Aybar (age 25) is the primary backup MIF, and SS Julio Lugo (age 33) is terrible, but was acquired in a salary dump to get a pitching prospect. The Blue Jays can easily afford to release him at the end of the year and eat his $6M salary in 2010. DH Carlos Delgado was just claimed off waivers for a homecoming, but is suffering through a subpar season. Prior to Delgado being claimed off waivers, David Hicks, who can't field to save his life, was the DH and he is hitting .298. Gary Matthews Jr. was acquired in a trade, is an impending free agent, and is hitting .355. Mike Cameron is in the final year of his contract, hitting .255 with 12 HR. Alexis Rios is hitting .295 w/ 13 HR. Backup Franklin Gutierrez may start next year, currently has a .686 OPS due to his low eye. The starting rotation currently boasts three 5* SP, ages 19, 22 and 21. The other two spots go to a 26 year old Matt Campbell, attempting to recapture earlier BSL magic and SP John Ennis, a 29-year old average SP. Ennis could be replaced by Jason Hirsh (currently a reliever) or by top pitching prospect John Easter or Nicholas Kalb (acquired with Lugo) in the minors along with a plethora of other options. The bullpen, aside from Jeremy Accardo (closer, 20 SV) needs a ton of work. The top position player prospects: CF Ken Griffey III, age 19, already w/ major league experience 1B George Gomez, age 22 2B Michael James, age 22, first round pick this year RF Colby Rasmus, on the DL, out for year, former starting CF 2B Martin Mitchel, age 21, and SS C.J Henry, age 23, and should take over for Julio Lugo next year. It's a young team which already has great offensive potential with reinforcements in the minors. The pitching rotation will continue to mature, and with the right moves, can be a dynasty for years to come. To apply, please e-mail me at Last edited by EvanAtMVN; 03-31-2024 at 09:41 AM. |

Update so no one else contacts: The team has been taken.
However, the Atlanta Braves are available, and they have a big rebuilding process ahead. Fans of rebuilding teams should apply! |
