They did suspend McSorley for one calendar year. That's pretty lengthy.

That's right. I forgot that they extended the suspension. And, McSorley never played in another NHL game.

Justice served.

I loved Whitaker. He's even more underrated than Trammell, and just as good as Ryne Sandberg.

Barry would be my favorite player ever if I didn't always choose a defensive player just to give the anonymous guys their due.

Ok, maybe not completely objective, but what's the definition of greatest finish? If it involves a home run to end the game, wouldn't you say that Maz in '60 was "greater" or "more dramatic" (if that's your criteria) than Carter in '93?

dola-

To use an eXtreme example, what if I said that Renteria grounding out to Foulke was the greatest finish to a World Series?

That's what I was getting at.

The lad with the #1 on his jersey is right now in the finals for Ottawa.

There's also Jerome Iginla, picutred in the centre below playing for Team Canada. He's presently captain for the Calgary Flames.

Had to look this guy up to see if he was still playing, but also the New York Rangers backup goalie Kevin Weeks.

And my fiancees fav player, Donald Brasher. Why I honestly dont' know, but he's still out there kicking ass and taking names. Hard to argue with a guy that takes sparring lessons from Joe Frazier.

So ther'es four just off the top of my head that are presently playing in the NHL. I'm sure ther'es more.
4? man, that's 4 more than I thought we had.

No.

On par? maybe. Greater? Nope.

This could be an interesting debate. What's your criteria?

Jim Hart? Wow. I'm a fan, too, and used to have a Jim Hart avatar for a while. Were you a fan of the Big Red?
I think the Cardinals in the early and mid 70's were one of the most exciting offensive teams in the history of football. Hart at quarterback Terry Metcalfe and Jim Otis in the backfield. Mel Gray at wideout. Dobler, Dierdorf and Banks on the line and Bakken as the kicker. I swear if they had any kind of defense they could have been a dynasty. The only team that was similar was the Chargers in the late 70's and early 80's though they did have a lot better defense. I nearly cried when they lost to the Bengals in Ice Bowl II. When was that? 80, 81, or 82. The mid 70s Cardinals and late 70s early 80s Chargers have my vote at the most fun teams to watch in the history of football

By the way my favorite football coach of all time is Don Coryell. Go figure.

Ice Bowl II was '81...I think.

Yeah, those Don Coryell teams in St. Louis and San Diego were amazing.
