Players become coaches?
Is it possible for retired players to become coaches? If so, how can I do this? I've only seen one retired player become a coach - but it's two individuals with the same name and similar info.

The game occasionally makes coaches out of players and I don't think you have any control over it.

Do an export to csv's and have a look in the coaches.csv - there is a field in there called Former Player ID. This ties up with the player id in the players.csv file.

Greg Maddux just signed a deal to coach in Japan in my league, as did Gabe Kapler. |

Greg Maddux
Born: 14-Apr-1966 Birthplace: San Angelo, TX Does the game somehow lose track of background info upon player retirement or "conversion" to a coaching career? Last edited by spark240; 06-04-2007 at 03:45 PM. |

You can always generate a fictional coach and edit them to reflect the player you want to be a coach

This may be an artifact converting the eMLB from High Heat to OOTP 5, then 6, then 2006, then 2007. Who knows when it broke?
