Update on Tech Support? Ping-->battists

Posting here so as to discreetly as is possible inquire:

Where do we stand with regard to v2007's 347 threads of Logged Issues? Have most of those been addressed and will eventually be moved to the Closed/Claimed Fixed? If not all, what of the remainder, including the most recent posts that have not been Logged? Are we in workaround mode and planning for next version, or is a third -- and presumably final - patch on the table for future installment? Lastly, are we awaiting dispositions on these issues before we finally implement a v2008 Suggestions Forum?

Thanks in advance.

These are all good questions. If he doesn't respond in a couple of days, try PMing him. He loves that.

Actually, I would have done that originally, but I'm still abiding by the "don't PM the Beta Team" directive.

I think Steve is pretty busy right now with other stuff (non-ootp) so be patient with him.

All joking aside, I don't think that rule applies here, for three reasons:
1) Although presumably work has begun on the third patch, the great crush to get done by release date is over.
2) Steve has legitimate duties with the company aside from the beta team.
3) If I'm understanding your issues (and they seem pretty straightforward), they have nothing to do with his duties on the beta team and everything to do with his duties helping to run the board.

Are you seeing this differently?

Edit: Thank you, bp_.

First, let's be clear just in case. Curtis is responding to my post about PM'ing beta members; not your admonition for patience, bp_. Secondly, no Curtis, I'm not seeing things differently. I simply have a propensity to adhere to directives until the behavior borders on sarcasm. I don't always wear it well. Lastly, I appreciate Steve's many faceted roles and I can wait for the answers. I just felt it was an appropriate time to broach those thoughts and in an appropriate place and manner.

Steve is on vacation, and he's buried at work.

Please give him the appropriate amount of slack. If it were possible for him to help, he'd do it in a heartbeat. It is his nature to do so.

He is being afforded the luxury of responding at his leisure. I never intended to imply otherwise, if you've interpreted that somewhere. I -->pinged battists specifically for the reason you mention. He responds and gets the job done. Frankly, there are four other names listed as moderator in this forum and any of them are welcome to respond to this Ping at their leisure as well.

I officially surrender. endgame, I should've PMed you instead of posting in your thread.

On the positive side, you're getting a lot of responses.

Er, well, battists seems to be fairly busy lately, so maybe I can shine some light on a few of your questions.

The Logged Issues subforum was cleaned up after patch 1, meaning that all TTs that had been Claimed Fixed were moved over to the appropriate sub-forum as of that point. From that point on, the status of any logged TTs has been updated within those threads more sporadically. I update any of the original threads in which I logged a TT once I get word on an updated status of that TT. Some others may not. I left anything in the Logged Issues subforum that was either marked for later consideration or found to have no immediate solution.

Our main focus lately has been to get a resolution for all of the threads in the main Tech Support forum. I believe that we are entirely caught up at this point and responding to all new queries within a couple of days at present. I don't know if anyone is planning on clearing out the Logged Issues sub-forum by following up on every single TT. I know that all of the fixed TTs were listed along with the release of the second patch. If anyone has any questions regarding any particular TTs in the Logged Issues sub-forum, they can post a request for a status update there and we can report back on any progress made in regard to the disposition of the TT.

I have no answers for you regarding patches or forum creation, but I can assure you that everything posted here in Tech Support will be logged for evalution by the developers as appropriate.

Nutlaw, I'd be remiss not to thank you for your efforts in this area. You have done a remarkable job being attentive to the forum and fielding issues as often as you've been able, and obstensibly a solitary endeavor at the moment. It is much appreciated.

Ooooo...... Caught me not proofreading closely enough; quite out of character for me. I'd edit it just to sleep better tonight, but with your public outing the deed is done. I knew I admired your work for a reason.

Since these are likely all of the answers that are available for now, I'm going to close out this thread.
