Post is running an article about an "unidentified blond bombshell" who A-Rod went to a strip club with in Toronto. Of course, they made sure to say that Mrs A-Rod was no where to be found and that A-Rod was wearing his wedding band:

I'm sorry, but is this front page news?? I've never really liked the post, but this is a bit low even for them. I suppose that this is the price of fame.

Derek Jeter can normally be found in the Yankees dugout.

His comments are accurate about the starters and hitters, but what three or four guys are these? As far as I am concerned, only one guy in the bullpen is doing well, Bruney. Proctor has a decent ERA but he gets that by pitching a shutout inning in a game well won or lost; when he needs to come through in the clutch, my impression is that he fails more than he succeeds. Same story for Myers.

Are these the three that Damon is talking about? They have to be, because the rest of the pen stinks! That includes Farnsworth (ptoo, I spit on him ) and, unfortunately, Rivera. Sure, he has not had too many save opportunities (who would with this team?) but his barely under 6.00 ERA cannot be blamed on rust, I'm sorry.

Perhaps he meant Pettite's relief appearances and Igawa's one sensational relief appearance as the second and third.

Are you saying all "True Yankees" want to be Mrs. ARod?

It's the Post and it's ARod. I'm not shocked. They had to find some way to **** with him. Hopefully this helps push him toward voiding the rest of his contract at the end of the year.

Now that was funny, don't think I ever saw a player yell "I got it" and the guy actually let it drop. I'm sure players try that all the time tho, just never saw it work.

Still a very bush league play. Not the way the game should be played...I can't believe the Jays didn't plunk the next batter or 2.

So, he actually did it? I didn't think there was enough evidence there...

Hey, you know what, I'll take some bush league (if that's what you call it) if it gets us some wins. The Yankees need to show some attitude and some fight, as long as it doesn't get out of hand. Players have to deal with fans yelling crap all the time, you don't give up on a play like that. Especially since you should know what your 2B voice sounds like, come on.

There was a ton of proof. In slow mo he was clearly seen yelling at the 3b -- it looked like he said 'mine' and at that exact moment the 3b stepped out of the way. So unless he faked the yell and the 3b was psychic.....

Of course they probably would have won without out it, so it doesn't matter a huge deal, but I find it funny that a player of Arod's talent has to resort to tactics like that to win. (Kind of like trying to pull the ball out of a glove )

If my 3rd graders did this, I'd tell them to quit as it would be un-sportsmanlike. A-Rod gets out of hand now and then and I think this was over the top. Of course, since it's A-Rod, this will be worse than spitting in an umpire's face.

Are we talking about this being bush league?

It's gotta be because it was A-Rod. If it were Jeter then it would be an overrated play that didn't mean much.

If it were any other player then no one would even talk about the play.

No IMO it didn't matter who it was. I actually like Arod. (don't tell anybody though)

It will probably get more attention then it should, being that it is Arod - it just was something he shouldn't have done. If any of the 14-15 years old that I coach did that, they would definitely be hearing about it.

*shrug*

-He slapped the ball out of a player's hand
-He slid out of his way and gave a shoulder to Pedroia (not really that big of a deal, but still not many people do this)
-He yells at a player as he's ready to catch the ball

The reason no one would say anything about Jeter is because Jeter doesn't do these things. A-Rod is the best player in the game when he's on, but I don't get why he has to act like he's 10 sometimes.

It's pretty funny. You do what you have to do to win within the rules and without hurting someone. This counts. Slapping Arroyo and to a lesser extent the shoulder check to Pedroia were outside the lines.

Well, I am glad to see the bats come alive once again. Clippard was wild, but he was at least effective through 5. Cano had a great game at the plate and just about everyone pitched in. Let's see how far they can carry it. On a sadder note:

Quote:
The Yankees are adding Roger Clemens to their rotation Monday. They won't be getting Phil Hughes back anytime soon, however.

Hughes, who has been on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring since May 2, rolled his left ankle last week. He has been diagnosed with a Grade III ankle sprain, according to general manager Brian Cashman, and is expected to need four to six weeks of rehabilitation. A Grade III sprain is the most severe of the three sprains, and involves a completely torn ligament.

Hughes will be out until at least the All-Star break.
