Total Pro Golf 2 Release Date Announced!

Total Pro Golf 2 will be available for purchase and electronic download on Wednesday May 30, 2007 at 8 pm EST exclusively at http://www.wolverinestudios.com for $29.95 USD.

Total Pro Golf 2 allows users to create a golfer and take him or her on one of six in game tours. Hire caddies and coaches, purchase equipment and play some great golf to earn sponsorships and your professional tour card. Quickly sim or play out your rounds in a beautiful and rich 2D environment complete with real time scoring so you can keep your eye on the leaderboard as you shoot for the tournament championship.
TPG2 features the same in depth career play as the original with these all new features.
· NEW optional Tri-click method of play (one-click method is still an option)
· NEW shot shaping options adding draw and fade shots to your arsenal
· DOUBLE the number of playable tours in the game to SIX! Work your way up on either an American or European Tour - or even crossover during your career!
· NEW chase for the "Wolverine Cup" - in game points system and playoffs on the pro tour
· NEW world player rankings added
· NEW yearly player awards given and tracked historically
· NEW methods of scheduling tournaments. Use our "auto scheduler" to randomly assign any courses you have on your hard drive to your tour schedule making changing courses a breeze and now "challenge events" are automatically rotated from year to year for you as well
· NEW player creation is a snap now with our random player generator. Choose your tour and your skill ability to start and you will get pre-generated ratings which you can edit if you like or go right into your tour career
· NEW expanded stats and almanac. Track your career winnings by tour or look at the all-time top tens in wins and major wins individually on all six tours!
· NEW courses. Four all new stunningly beautiful courses to play on!
· More NEW features: overall player ratings, weekly schedules suggested by your golf coach, expanded green view in 2D mode and many more enhancements to season and game play!
Total Pro Golf 2 is from acclaimed sports sim developer Gary Gorski. His previous titles include the Total Pro Basketball series, Total College Basketball and Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball. Please visit our forums at www.wolverinestudios.com for more details.

Has anyone created historic golfer files for this or the earlier TPG?

I have done some for my historical replays but have not released anything to the public. I will be updating things for whatever era I decide to do a replay in this time around and would be glad to share the file with you.

That would be greatly appreciated!

I saw that someone made a current set and it appeared that you had a 70s set at one point.

I like to mix eras and would love to add golf to the Boxing/Horse Racing/Cricket universe that I currently have.

What other eras have you done and/or are willing to share?

Christopher

Small company right now. Gary's company has a lot of vision and willing to take chances, and if people give his products a try it would be good.

The pro golf game alone should be worth it. How many games do you find that addresses golf, much less anything than the football, basketball, and baseball genres?

Anyone that loves testing should apply at WS, they are on the move, they just need a stronger base of fans! Go check them out. It is worth it. Other than Markus and Jim Gindin, I don't know another programmer that is as responsive as he is.

Oh I agree 100% his games come out of the box with very few bugs .. I am buying TPG2 today. Just surprised at the lack of action on the forum over there. Maybe it's because the game is so good there is nothing to whine about.

I am working on a 1920's set mainly for use in my historical replay but will certainly make it available to anyone interested. I did do a 70's set for TPG1 and may expand on it for TPG2 but my main focus right now will be on getting as many golfers as possible for my 20's set.

The game itself is a lot of fun and there are some great new courses available to go along with all the user created ones from TPG1.

I agree with TC_Dale, plus some people do other things than just hanging out at forums all day. Joking, just joking.

I have no interest in actually playing the game as a golfer. I would want to create a tour, select the courses, and have a group of mixed era pros that play that tour. I want to add and drop pros from year-to-year of my own choosing rather than have them generated and I certainly don't mind making my own player files where needed. It would be nice to have the game track season and career stats but I can live with doing that myself on the side.

Do you think I would be able to that with TPG?

Absolutely. That is exactly how I do it for some of my replays although I have not mixed golfers from different eras. Btw, the game does track season and career stats for you.

Here are some examples. Ignore the x's in the last name. I added them to designate real players I created. The stats that are kept in version 2 of the game is a huge upgrade from version 1 and gives you really everything you could want.

The TPG2 Bonus Update is now available. The bonus update contains the following brand new features

- Two brand new courses : Dublin Links and Royal Edinburgh
- Tournament summary popup : After you finish the final round you will get a popup with your final placement in the tournament as well as round scores and winnings
- Final Round Improvements : If you are in the top 30 players on Sunday on the professional or senior tours you will now be treated to a constantly updating on course leaderboard as well as roars and groans from the gallery as the leaders make their way around the course
- Tri-click bar instructions : To help make aware that the yellow line is the correct distance to hit the shot and not the full power of the club

The Bonus Update will bring your game officially to 2.1 and will fix the issues addressed in the prior beta patches as well. Enjoy and Happy Fathers Day everyone!

I just want to add that in addition to the 2 new courses Gary has released with the bonus there are a ton of courses availavle to download free at the Total Pro Golf Community site.

Including the most recent addition, Oakmont, site of last weekend's US Open. There are a ton of great courses there such as Augusta, St Andrews, Pebble Beach and Firestone.

The community site is here www.tpgcommunity.net

Until there's an easy way (i.e. .exe file all-in-one) that imports real players, real tours with courses included, I'm not buying. It's too much pain to download each course individually, set up tours and play with historical players or fictional ones.
