Player Salary Report Not Updating Correctly
I have noticed that the Player Salary Report which is accessed through the Front Office tab does not update correctly until the off season begins each 1/31.
Possibly by choice, but I don't understand the reason for putting player's contract information into the wrong year at any point. For instance, this is happening in an all fictional league that I started in 2010. The players that were rewarded through arbitration learned of their new contracts at the end of 2011. Within the player salary report after signing, their new salary which is actually for 2012... is displayed in the 2011 column incorrectly. It then moved into the 2012 column, correctly, on 2/1/12. I have a player that was given a contract of 6.7 million through arb in November, 2011. His 6.7 was in the 2011 column, but then moved into 2012 on 1/31/12, which provided for the wrong totals in each column for 3 months or so. This seems to happen with some players that are in the last year of their contracts as well. My top pitcher is in the final year of his contract in 2012, paying him $14.6M per year. Before 1/31/12, he did not have a salary within the 2012 column. After 1/31/12 he did, even though he was signed the entire time. I had a bunch of screens shots that would have explained this better, but they were too big unfortunately. It may simply be by design to update that salary report when the off season officially begins on 1/31....but I use that list when I'm looking over free agents and figuring out my payroll/extensions in November and December and become thoroughly confused when players have the wrong salary in the wrong column. I've attached three images detailing the finances for my player Mike Lowe.
The day before he was given his contract for 2013 through arbitration. However, it is listed within the 2012 column. It will not move over into 2013 until 1/31. The guy below him, Justin Bernard, is in the exact same situation. At first glance, my team salary report is telling me that these two are not signed for 2013. With free agent filings tomorrow, I need to click on each player to make sure that they are indeed signed. Last edited by pbar25; 05-28-2007 at 05:35 AM. |

Here is the example of somebody in the last year of their contract :
Marc-Olivier St-Jean is not a free agent, he is signed through 2013 for 12.4M. Therefore the totals at the bottom of this report are incorrect for the moment, as well as the arb salaries not moving into 2013. Free Agency has just begun and I cannot use this report when deciding how much money I want to dictate towards each position, as it is apparently not accurate during this portion of the year. And now on 1/31/13, everything gets lined up correctly.
