MLB Dispersal Draft League Opens

The owners over at Pennant-Chase Baseball League are starting up a 2007 MLB dispersal draft league to go with our outstanding fictional league; the Pennant-Chase Fantasy League.

A 24 team league (we contracted six clubs), owners select an MLB squad and will draft their first fifteen rounds of players. You get to build your organization the way you want based around your MLB team's stadium. We will be using Rolen's rosters when they are released.

About half of the league is filled with active PCBL owners, which finished our own fictional draft a couple of months ago. While we await for the rosters, we are in the process of designing our initial draft and league rules, so we're ready to fill the rest of the slots.

We will be simming three times a week, seven days a sim (Tues/Thur/Sun). If interested, please send an email to blitzkrieg.bombers@gmail.com

Currently we have the following teams open, with two owners yet to pick a team. Remember it is a fantasy draft league, so you won't have their roster, just their logo and ballpark:

-Milwaukee Brewers
-Chicago White Sox
-Oakland Athletics
-Texas Rangers
-Cincinnati Reds
-Chicago Cubs
-San Francisco Giants

Just downloaded the game last night, so i'm completely new at this. I'm very interested in joining an online league. Do you guys suggest I play a few seasons solitaire to learn the ropes or should i just take the plunge?

Next question - It's not entirely clear to me in the opening post, is this league using fictional players ala PCFL?

It's real players draft league. It uses Rolen17 real roster set, except we will draft all the players instead in an innaugural draft. Only 24 teams will be used.

Thanks for the quick reply. Another question comes to mind. Is there somewhere I can go to see the rules? Oh, and what date will the draft be held?

The date of the initial draft has not been determined but I gather it will be pretty soon after we have filled the league.

My advice is just to jump on in. I learned more playing in an online league than I ever did messing with it myself. Plus there is always someone to ask.
