I really don't get why the NBA does the lottery this way. Memphis had a 42% chance to get the #1 or #2 pick. That total should be at least 50%.

Well, I take back my comments that the NBA draft is rigged.

The reason is to try to mitigate the tanking motivation.

Portland should trade Randolph for a PG so they can win about 5 titles over the next dozen years.

That crossed my mind almost instantly. Which teams would make that trade though?

I don't know. Who's in the market for a 20-10 guy who is also insane and could potentially snap and kill one of his teammates at any time?
All I know is they need to get him out of there and build around Roy and Oden. |

dola,
The best part about this draft order is the Hawks are at 3. I mean, lets face it, no one could screw up 1 or 2, but at 3 all bets are off. The Hawks could do almost anything, you can't put anything past that group of geniuses. |

And in return you'll end up punishing the teams who really need the help. A team in the #1 and #2 spot should have at least one team winding up in the top three. I know the Celtics tanked this year, but this could happen to any team that desperately needs the player.

Well, Boston could trade their pick. Pierce, Randolph, Jefferson could be pretty nasty.
Minnesota maybe? Conley could very well be gone by then. Oden/Aldridge is going to be disgusting. That's quite a trio and none of those 3 players needs to dominate the ball. |

Trola,
Does Seattle getting lucky and nabbing the 2nd pick mean in the end of the Rashard Lewis era?? They could use the cap space on a big since Durant could replace Lewis and will probably be a much better player at some point. |

You would hope so. Lewis is gonna get max money and he's not worth that.

I think folks in Orlando should be really happy about Seattle picking 2nd. It could very well send Lewis to Orlando.
