Congrats to you guys for the Yanks winning last night. Hopefully my guys can get to Moose tonight. (wait, oh yeah, Tavarez is starting so Moose better have a monumental breakdown if the sox are going to win)

Cano's overall #s aren't very impressive. But, I picked up this tidbit from foxsports...

Quote:
Cano doubled and scored when Jeter extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a single, making him 13-for-20 (.650) this year with two outs and runners in scoring position for a total of 15 RBIs.

I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about Tavarez tonight.

And the AL East table looks very strange with a single digit number appearing in GB. Best get it back to 10.5 tonight.

I think tonight will be a battle of the bullpens. I have a feeling that Okajima might just give up a run tonight...

Can't tell on gameday, but he's laboured on 31 pitches in the first inning. Which is good, because after Pedroia leads off the 2nd it'll be the top of the order again!

Doesn't look like he's on form today.

Tavarez is looking great so far. Maybe he's turning the corner to a solid #5?

Clemens is just around the corner and Hughes shouldn't be too far behind. If they need Moose to be a #5 starter, he should be able to support that.

I just read an article on Foxsports that the Angels are interested in trading for Giambi. The reported deal is Molina and Figgins.

Can't see how that would help their pitching staff..

Or any part of their team, really. In a good year, Figgins is a .350/.400 hitter, and this doesn't look like a good year.

I don't think their pitching staff needs help via a trade. They have 3 promising young starters in DeSilva, Hughes and Clippard. Rasner is a good young arm, but I think he should stay in the pen. With Moose, Pettitte, Wang and Clemens also in the rotation, I don't see how trading away anything for a starter would be a good move. Now, if they could have gotten Santana in that deal, I wouldn't be crying But, I don't want to see them deal kiddies for a veteran pitcher. I'd rather write off this year to see the potential of the young pitchers they have.

As for the Giambi deal, I don't know whether I like it or not. I've always liked Figgins, but I have no idea where they would play him and he's been in an awful slump this year.
