Bolded names on game lineup pages?

On the game lineup pages (Options and Preview), what's the significance of certain players being bolded?

I think bold represents the player who is at-bat.

Or "next batter due up" which before the game starts (you are showing the game preview screen) will be the #1 batter in both lineups. Check the webcast screen during the game to see what Sagitta is talking about.

No, in the home and vs. pitcher columns.

Ah. Hmmm. Maybe "noteworthy," good or bad?

Edit: Nah, I just looked at my game; appears random to me. Anybody else know?

There was a thread about this recently; it's supposed to represent the top or hot hitters. In the other thread, it wasn't completely clear how this was determined, however.

I'd feel better about "hot" if I saw the "on fire" icon correlated with the bold font, but it doesn't.

However, I notice that from the example above that it appears to be the top guys in BA either overall or against the pitcher . . . either/or, not necessarily both.

Yeah, 'top' makes more sense! It appears that if the overall column is bolded, the vs. pitcher gets bolded regardless of whether it's noteworthy, but the reverse isn't true.
