If you could only keep ten teams, say, for an online league using rolen's rosters, which 10 teams would you pick? also, why would you leave out any teams in particular?

I'd probably get rid of all the "expansion" teams...go back to the originals. Don't know how many that is, but I'd keep as many of the original franchises as possible...Yankees, Giants, Dodgers, A's, Twins Red Sox, White Sox
..yada yada...gone would be Montreal, Toronto, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Tamba Bay...you get the point

They spent most of the 2001 season at #1 (only to fall a couple floors). Cubs (one of the oldest teams in baseball) WhiteSox (there's your 'EL' series!) D'Backs (The youngins, plus that killer rotation) Cardinals (For all them historians) Yankees (the other historian) Mariners (to balance out the map and Ichiro) Rockies (must be the thin air) Indians (someone has to play the Mariners) Expos (for the Canadiens, eh) Twins (in case there's an option to relocate) |

If I had to only keep ten teams I would turn my league into a novelty act and keep the following:
1) NY Yankees 2) NY Mets 3) CHI Cubs 4) CHI W.Sox 5) STL Cardinals 6) KC Royals 7) TEX Rangers 8) HOU Astros 9) SF Giants 10) OAK A's With these 10 teams I could exploit the intra-state rivalries. However, were I to be more serious I would replace the Mets, Royals, & Astros with teams that have more history (more specifically; Boston, LA, Atl) Oaky..okay..so Texas has no history but that is my fav team and I would like to retain a little interest in the league ;P |

Dodger Stadium is celebrating its 40th anniversary of use this season. And as any fan that has been to a few ballparks will tell you, it is definitely the crown jewel of all stadiums built in the 1960’s!

Here's what I'd do...I'd take the 16 original franchises and use those that have the deepest histories and richest traditions...
AL Yankees Red Sox Tigers Indians Athletics Out: Twins, Orioles (1st AL alternate), ChiSox NL Braves Cubs Dodgers Cardinals Reds Out: Giants (1st NL alternate), Phillies, Pirates,

Oh, I forgot about Dodger Stadium...I'll revise to say it's the only good field out of the age of the multipurpose cookie-cutters.
