AI is releasing star players in online league
Ack. Several players that were traded during a pre-season trade in an OOTP 2007 online league were released during a sim tonight.
FWIW, the trade was on 02-15-2019, the releases took place on 02-25-2019, and the sim was set to autosim for 45 days (from 02-15-2019 to 04-01-2019). That means there was no commish moves done on the day of releases. I had a complete league back up (manually zipped) so I could re-run the sim, the the same thing happened on the same days in the re-sim. Is there some game logic significance to February 25th? I'm going to try a 3rd re-sim but done "manually" using the auto-play sim dropdown option. If I am able to sim OOTP 2007 without the game releasing recently traded players I'll post my workaround here. If anyone has any immediate ideas on how to prevent this within the game I'm all ears, otherwise I hope this gets addressed ASAP. Assuming we have not done anything in the games settings to allow this, this is a crippling bug. |

Okay - it's the DFA box thing. I did not have "release DFA's" checked in autosim but it looks like you need to manually move these traded players from the DFA box for owners after any trades, and that will prevent the AI from releasing the player. Is there any other way to do this, or am I missing some kind of obvious global setting? TIA if anyone has any idea's.

Hasn't it always been like this ?
We used to (old versions) process trades after the sim to solve this - but with 45 day sims; that'd be tough. Then again, if your plan was to just let 'em sit in the DFA - no biggie. Sometimes the commish would do it before, if both GMs really, really, wanted him to, and left specific instructions as to where to place the players. Another work around (though more time) could be to have download/upload days just for trades & new roster moves. |

Actually, I would just turn off the auto-release DFA option in cases where you might run into this. You can then turn it back on for the regular season.

.BTW, the auto-release DFA option you refer to, is that the one on the Commish Portal or something else under league settings? The DFA option in the Commish Portal was unchecked in my attempts above, though I notice that some of the games check boxes will "stick" and that could have happened here since I recheck the league file and html generation settings frequently before pressing the execute sim button. By check-boxes sticking I mean that sometimes when you uncheck them, then move to a sub-screen of the current screen, then return to the original screen the check box will sometimes return to a checked state. |

Killebrew, your issue seems to be solved so I am going to close this. If there is still a problem please let us know. Thx.
