But the NCAA, the body that governs college athletics, have strict academic rules in place nowdays. I suppose some still cheat but its much harder. I completely understand and sympathize with the plight of parents and the lure of money. But for every Michael Owen, how many fail?

Now I'm hoping Liverpool win the UCL extra hard now.

Quote:
Sir Alex Ferguson has all but written off Liverpool's Champions League chances.

The Manchester United boss is backing AC Milan all the way to win the final in Athens on May 23 (May 24 AEST).

"I'd bet for sure that Milan will win the Champions League. I'm absolutely certain of it," Ferguson said in the Sun.

Ferguson plans to toast their victory with a bottle of wine given to him by opposite number Carlo Ancelotti after Milan knocked United out at the semi-final stage last week.

"I said to Carlo at the end of our semi-final that there is no way he can now not win this competition," added Ferguson.

"Carlo gave me a magnificent bottle of wine. But I immediately told him I would only drink his win once I see him lifting the Champions Cup."

Ferguson admits he was in awe of Milan's performance in the semi-final second leg at the San Siro, which his side lost 3-0.

But he believes United's off-colour display was partially the result of their Premiership exertions the previous weekend.

"Milan's second-leg victory over us was stupendous, fantastic and extraordinary," said Ferguson.

"I know we paid a high price for the Premiership fightback which we needed at Everton to turn a 2-0 scoreline into a 4-2 victory."

"Last week, Milan were fresher and better prepared tactically and physically. I'm still trying to analyse the factors involved. But the truth remains we faced one of the best performances in the history of AC Milan."
"Stupendous, fantastic and extraordinary"....possibly, or maybe ManU played like cr@p. I think Sir Alex may have already consumed that wine before this quote!

I'll be rooting for Liverpool. No one knew where the goals were Liverpool going to come from. And the nidfield was unspectacular. But through grit and spirit they have persevered. Also AC Milan are boring squared.

Clubs warned over Tevez legal bid

Quote:
Any legal challenge over the Carlos Tevez transfer saga would be futile, the Premier League has warned.

The decision not to dock West Ham points over contract irregularities - and whether he should still be playing - has been questioned by other clubs.

But the Premier League confirmed to BBC Sport it had written to all 20 member clubs stating that any challenge would be "bound to fail".

A second letter, making it clear Tevez is free to play on, was also sent out.

West Ham have been treated the way they have because of who they are and who they know simple as, it even says "The Commission concluded that a deduction of points "would normally follow from such a breach of rules".

Then why didn't they, and this BS about it being late in the season doesn't wash as they docked Leeds 10 pts with only one game to play and Leeds hadn't been relegated before the points deduction, also states "that fans, players are no way to blame and should not be made to suffer".

This is also BS as Leeds, Bury, Scarborough, Lancaster etc either got points deducted or thrown out of the FA Cup and the fans weren't to blame but they were still punished.

The Lawyer sums it up by saying "In my opinion West Ham received favourable treatment" not only his opinion but the opinion of thousands, Wigan and Sheff Utd fans have a song arranged if in the last few minutes West Ham are facing relegation "We only sing when were cheating".

If West Ham are losing and Latics score we could even have a situation like when Blackburn scored against Liverpool on the last day of the season in 94/95 when trying to stop Man Utd becoming Champions, where Liverpool fans cheered Blackburns goal and there were no celebrations when I think it was Jamie Redknapp who scored the winner for Liverpool.

Also in 94/95 on the last day of the season it was Man Utds failure to beat West Ham that stopped them from winning the title, I don't think many Utd fans would shed a tear if West Ham went down as I've heard some say it's payback time for 94/95.

He did one about hooligans over here, visiting Everton, Burnley and Man Utd fans amongst others. The Burnley one was like a time warp (Burnley is bit like the deep south, kissing cousins and such ) they even dressed the same as the hooligan era of the 70's and 80's

Best one was when he had the topmen of the Everton and Man Utd firms in a pub talking about the fights they used to have, it was like listening to two ex pro footballers talking about the games they played against each other, I don't think it registered with them that they used to put people in hospital and instead it was just a game to them.
