Hello again, everyone.

I've just posted my .dat files on the FTP server, so if someone in here knows how to look for problems and wants to give fixing them a shot, that would be great! I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to this, so any help would be a blessing.

It's still stalled out right now, so I'm going through and making all sorts of cosmetic changes to it in 2007. Every team has the right uniform and everything like that for FaceGen, and I've been told that the bug that's keeping me from advancing is being looked at for the next patch.

However, I don't know when that is coming out, and I want to keep this going, so if it takes much longer to find a solution, I'll play out the next year on OOTP 6.5, just for that back in the day feeling.

Trust me, I'm not giving up on this, especially with the warm weather finally hitting the east coast and the Phillies actually getting a winning streak going.

Yeah. I think as more time goes by, Marty Mueller is just going to keep getting fatter. He needs to play some games to keep the weight off. Here's hoping that Hurkman can get things going soon.

News

The biggest news of the winter came from New York City, where Ludwig Van Cleef regretfully retired after a devastating injury ended his career. He is not leaving the game completely, as the Giants offered him a position as a pitching specialist in the minor leagues, meaning that he will be overseeing the development of most of the young pitchers that make their way up to the Giants.

He finished his brilliant career with 294 wins, just six short of 300, 4,063 strikeouts, 373 complete games, 75 shutouts, a 2.79 ERA and three World Series championships. The game of baseball will certainly miss this great player.

Rookie Watch
While last season's draft class may go down as one of the best in recent history, this year's is nothing to sneeze at, either. With potential talent such as Babe Herman, Charlie Gehringer, Tony Lazzeri and Paul Waner all waiting for teams to select them, this year could very well be looked at even more favorably than 1925 down the road. Of course, the other thing that sets this class apart is the potential superstar that will more than likely be selected first overall.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley, 3B

Hailing from the town of Greenwich, Connecticut, young Helmsley looks far more imposing than his 20 years of age can show. A pure mountain of a man at six foot four and 250 pounds, Helmsley has already been punishing pitchers in the amateur ranks for years. He has an ability to hit the ball to any corner of a baseball diamond, and while he may not be ready for the major leagues this season, it shouldn't be long before he has pitchers shaking out on the mound.

Current Ratings (Contact/Gap/Power/Eye/Avoid K): 41/49/25/48/43
Total Talent Ratings: 100/90/83/65/70

It's running on 6.5 right now, since the problem with 2007 is still ongoing. I hope that it gets resolved with the new patch, because I have all kinds of new ideas for this that can be used with 2007. Of course, if it still doesn't work, 6.5 hasn't failed me yet, so I'll keep plugging away with it.

Draft Results

With a tremendous amount of batting talent available at the top of the 1926 draft pool, the New York Giants were more than ready to select first for the first time since they drafted Michael Feldbush way back in 1910. Although they had their choice of already established and ready to perform stars, they went with a player that they could mold in Hunter Hearst Helmsley. While Helmsley may not be ready to play at the major league level yet, he is certainly going to be a force at Class AA ball when the season starts, and it shouldn't be too long before he is terrorizing pitchers at the major league level.

The top batters went very quickly following the selection of Helmsley. The Browns selected Babe Herman second, while Tony Lazzeri, Paul Waner and Charlie Gehringer were all gone by pick seven. The Boston Braves selected the first pitcher of the draft when they picked Charlie Root eighth. The rest of the first round goes as follows:

New York (N) pick: 3B Hunter Hearst Helmsley
St. Louis (A) pick: RF Babe Herman
Chicago (N) pick: 2B Charlie Gehringer
New York (A) pick: 2B Buddy Myer
Detroit pick: 2B Tony Lazzeri
Cincinnati pick: RF Paul Waner
Boston (A) pick: RF Pete Scott
Boston (N) pick: P Charlie Root
Brooklyn pick: LF Pid Purdy
Cleveland pick: LF Cuckoo Christensen
Pittsburgh pick: P Red Lucas
Chicago (A) pick: C Pinky Hargrave
Philadelphia (N) pick: 2B Andy Cohen
Washington pick: 3B Ed Taylor
St. Louis (N) pick: C Jack Cummings
Philadelphia (A) pick: 2B Jerry Standaert

Season Preview
American League

Philadelphia Athletics

The "old men" of baseball proved that they still had a little spring left in their steps as the came back from a 3-1 defecit to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1925 World Series. Although they are certainly not the youngest team in the American League, their experience and the fact that they just won their second championship has them as the early favorites to take another World Series crown.

While it has been pitching that has carried the Athletics this past decade, if they want to win another title this season they will have to with their bats. Their lineup, while old, may still be one of the best in the American League. Tris Speaker is still capable of hitting over .300 and is very close to 3,000 career hits, Ray Grimes is coming off of a World Series in which in won MVP honors and Sam Rice, John Kelleher and Austin McHenry make an excellent core that should be able to make up for some questionable pitching.

It appears age has hit the Athletics more on the pitching mound than at the plate. Though he won 25 games last season, George Kahler is not getting any younger, and at age 36, he is beginning to worry whether or not batters may be able to catch up with some of his once unhittable pitches. Walter Johnson will not start the year with the team and will instead be coaching the younger prospects in Class AAA ball until he is needed. Though the team is unhappy, they understand the decision. Rookie pitcher Sam Gibson steps into the very large shoes of Johnson and becomes the youngest starter on the team at age 26. Aside from Gibson, none of the other starting pitchers or hitters is under the age of 30, and this could prove to be the weakness of the Athletics. If any one of these older players goes down with an injury, it could be the end of their season. For now though, everyone is healthy and ready for possibly one last great season to start.

Washington Senators
Last season, the Senators were very close to repeating as American League champions, only to fold under the pressure in September and see the Athletics claim another flag. This year, Washington is more motivated than ever to get back to the World Series, and if that motivation can continue for the entire year, they could very well be the team to beat in all of baseball.

Washington's pitching staff brings back three starters from last season in Guy Morton, Lee Meadows and bill Burwell, while Jesse Haines switches from the bullpen and takes Roy Wilkinson's place in the rotation. Wilkinson essentially traded spots with Haines, as he is now the anchor of the Washington bullpen. Morton, Meadows and Burwell can all win close to, if not more than, 20 games and they should be able to do enough that any weaknesses that Haines has can be worked out by the end of the season. The addition of Wilkinson to the bullpen should help any lead that the Senators have hold up against opposing batters.

In addition, Washington's batting order is also one of the best in baseball. Peter Bernard has become one of many leaders for the Senators, and along with Benny Kauff, Curt Walker, Joe Judge and Riggs Stephenson, helps form one of the best lineups in the American League. Unlike the Athletics, Washington has many of their players just entering the prime years of their career, and while they would like to win the pennant this year, they should still have time to eastablish themselves as the best team in the American League if they can not reach the top again this season.

Chicago White Sox
After years of finishing somewhere between just short and not even close, the Chicago White Sox now believe that this is their year to win the American League pennant and even the World Series. Of course, having two of the best hitters in baseball certainly can make fans feel good about their team, even if they do have a few holes in their pitching staff.

The two hitters that form the heart of Chicago's lineup are none other than Babe Ruth and Harry Heilmann. At 31 years old, no one is quite sure how long either one of them can maintain their current pace, but both are doing quite well so far. Ruth is coming off of one of his best seasons yet and is the all time leader for the American League in homeruns, while Heilmann consistantly hits .300 and provides pitchers with another headache besides Ruth. Aside from those two, the offense is a bit shaky, with second year man Harry Rice and second baseman Max Bishop being the best options.

If nothing else, Chicago has an experienced pitching staff. Three of their starters are over the age of 30, and the oldest, Reb Russell, has World Series experience with the Washington Senators. Russell, along with Elmer Smith and Rube Bressler, each won 18 or more games last season, though their fourth starter, Virgil Cheeves and their bullpen leave much to be desired. Chicago has the offensive power to possibly make a World Series run, but they wil need a few things to fall their way in order to realize their dream.

National League

St. Louis Cardinals

After years of waiting, the Cardinals finally achieved their goal with a World Series appearance last season. Of course, from there, it became a nightmare, with the Cardinals blowing a 3-1 series lead to Philadelphia in losing the World Series. St. Louis certainly has the talent to make a repeat trip, but it will take a total effort, combined with forgetting how last season ended, to make it possible.

Led by Justin Williamson, the St. Louis pitching staff is one of the most feared in the National League, even if it does have some flaws. Of course, Williamson is capable of winning close to 30 games and striking out almost 350 batters, but it is the rest of the rotation that must follow his lead. George Kaiserling has certainly shown that he can do just that, but there are still questions when it comes to Dutch Ulrich and Shamus O'Brien. Neither one has down the consistancy needed to be a solid starting pitcher, but they are the only two options the Cardinals have, so they are stuck with them.

Their lineup, however, has even smaller holes, if any at all. Deke Taggart and Cristobal Torriente lead the hard swinging Cardinals into yet another season, and they are both motivated to close out whatever they start this year. Aside from Taggart and Torriente, the Cardinals also have Ross Youngs, who surprised everyone by hitting .354 last season and stealing 42 bases, as well as Bob Meusel and youngster Jim Bottomley, who appears to be fully recovered from the injury he suffered in last season's World Series. Make no mistake about it, with the team they have, the Cardinals are the team to beat not only in the National League, but possibly in all of baseball, which just adds more pressure to all of them. Whether or not they can overcome it all will just have to be seen.

Philadelphia Phillies
Much like the Cardinals used to be, the Phillies have been standing on the edge of greatness for years now, but seem unable or unwilling to take that final step. At the same time, the team is not getting any younger, meaning that any chance they have to get to the World Series may be running out with every passing day. If they can in fact get to their second National League pennant, this year might be when they finally do it.

The strength of Philadelphia would have to be their batting order, which is an almost perfect mix of young and old players. The youngsters quite outnumber the older players, with Gabby Hartnett, Andy High and Travis Jackson all just hitting the peak of the careers, and Fletcher Parslofski is starting down the back end of his. Of course, smack in the middle of everyone is Rogers Hornsby, one of the best players in baseball. Despite hitting .391 last season, Hornsby took the failure of Philadelphia to win the pennant personally, and spent the entire winter working on how to make himself and his team better. If even half of what he did works out, then the Phillies could be quite dangerous.

It's just a shame that Horsnby can't pitch for the Phillies, because that is their main weakness. Only two pitchers on the staff this season won more than 10 games last season, and the other two starting pitchers might have just enough wrong with them to keep the Phillies from the top of the National League. Both Hippo Vaughn and George Ruth are trying as hard as they can to get both Red Ruffing and Sweetbreads Bailey up to speed, but it might be until midseason before they are actually ready. If that is the case, Philadelphia could find themselves in a deep hole that they are unable to climb out of.

Brooklyn Robins
After struggling horribly in 1923 and 1924, the Brooklyn Robins shocked most of the baseball world by finishing fourth last season. While there is a chance that they could revert back to their mediocre ways, with the talent they have, there is an even better chance that they could finally reach the top of the National League.

While their pitching staff is not the most feared in the world, it is nothing to sneeze at, either. Pitchers Al Gould, Firpo Marberry and Urban Shocker each won over 15 games last season, and Harry Harper was not far behind, with 13 wins to his name. Shocker has emerged as the leader of the pitching staff, and is certainly one of the more solid pitchers in the National League. He has been showing Gould, Marberry and Harper some new tricks during the winter and spring, and if they even picked up just a few of them, the Robins could end up with one of the best staffs in the National League.

Much like Philadelphia, Brooklyn finds their batting order a solid mix of both young and old players. Eddie Collins and Ken Williams provide the voices of experience, while Chick Hafey, Al Simmons, Joe Hauser and Willie Kamm chip in with their breed of young, exciting play. Combined, they make an excellent group whose talents are becoming known throughout the baseball world. All of the above players have the ability to hit over .300 and drive in at least 70 runs, and if it happens this year, the Robins may just be finding themselves in unfamiliar territory at the top of the National League.

Hello again, everyone. Just wanted to give you (another) quick update, though this time, it's good news!

I don't know what they did or how they fixed it, but the new beta patch seems to have fixed whatever was keeping the dynasty from carrying over in OOTP 2007, and now it works! I've been working on a few things with it in 2007 now, and I'm just about done.

I have every team's jersey from 1926 up to 2007 ready to go in FaceGen, with only a few exceptions, so you will now be able to see your players in their correct jerseys. Thanks to Acetonic for the deadball uniforms, Fhomess for starting right around 1950 for most teams, Deft for all your jersey styles that I used and whomever I got almost every logo in history from. You all made creating most of these uniforms so much easier.

I've just got a few more things I want to test before I get the official dynasty started in 2007. Since I didn't actually start 1926 in OOTP 6.5, I'm going to convert it over and start 1926 in OOTP 2007. So hold on until the end of the weekend, because it looks like I'll be fully loaded and ready to roll by then!

Oh yeah, if anyone wants to use some of the uniforms I made with their own games, just ask, and I can send them off to Padresfan for hosting. Some of them I think are pretty good, while others are just horrible, at least in my opinion. If anyone wants, I could always set up a seperate thread in the mod forum and show you the ones that I like and let everyone decide whether or not they're any good, but that's up to you guys.

(Well, everything works, so...here come the FaceGen pictures! Of course, if the player has a historical record, then they don't get FaceGen, but I still might put their pictures up here anyway.)

It looks like Sandford's days as a player are just about over. He's down with the Red Sox Class AA club as a sort of player/manager, to help teach the young players what they need to know before they head up to the Red Sox. It doesn't look like he'll get much time to pitch, but if he keeps showing promise as a coach, he's sure to have a job somewhere when his playing career comes to an end.

While Christian's age has started to become a topic of conversation in St. Louis, there are very few people who believe that he will be walking away from the Browns any time soon. He is still a fan favorite, despite being past his prime, and many of the younger players on the team are looking at him as a mentor for how the game is supposed to be played. He may not have that much time left in baseball, but he will always be remembered in St. Louis.

More than ever, Fletcher wants to get the Phillies to the World Series. The past few seasons, he's been close, but just hasn't been able to hold it together when it mattered the most. This winter, he trained almost as hard as he ever had, knowing that he might not get another chance to play for a championship. Whether or not it makes a difference will be seen come April and hopefully not end until October.

The recent seasons of struggle have been rough for Feldbush, who came into the league just as the Giants were becoming a power. Now, with his skills at the plate starting to fade, he has resigned himself to teaching the younger members of the team, in the hope that maybe they can improve enough to help him get back to the World Series one more time. Of course, if that doesn't work, the unhappiness that has also been a part of the past few seasons could return as well.

Killian is starting the 1926 season on the disabled list with an injured right shoulder. When he returns in about a month, he is unlikely to see much playing time, but that doesn't seem to matter to him any more. What he wants to is see the Braves get one more chance at a World Series title while he is still playing, since it seems like he doesn't have that much time left in Boston.

Of all the players on St. Louis that were a part of the World Series collapse last year, very few took it harder than Shamus O'Brien. His loss in Game 6 cost them the championship, or so he believes. The Cardinals need him to snap out of his funk that seems to have a hold of him if they even want another shot at the title, so they are hoping it comes to an end, and soon.

Despite putting up some of the best numbers of his career last season, Jamee could do nothing but watch as the Braves missed the World Series for the first time since 1920. This winter, he dedicated even more time to making sure that he does his part to get Boston back to the top of the National League, and many of the Braves joined him in his training. Everyone knows that he is ready, but there are still questions about the rest of the Braves.

Even though Justin had the best statistical season of his career last season, he has not able to close out the World Series against the Athletics. The Game 7 defeat, despite him not being on the mound when the winner run was scored, has weighed heavily on Justin throughout the winter. He seems to be in good spirits now, however, and is more than ready to get this season started so that the Cardinals will have another chance to erase the ghosts of last October.

Cristobal had another solid season last year, though when it came down to the end of the World Series, he was not able to match what he had done all season. He seems to have put that behind him, though, and is ready for next year to start. If he can keep up his run production in the middle of the Cardinal lineup, then he should be a force for years still.

While Peter had another excellent season, he was not satisfied, because the Senators were not able to defend their World Series title like he wanted. He's put in extra time this winter and spring in preparation for the coming season, and is hoping that he gets a shot to make it back to the World Series. What he would like most of all is a chance to play against the Cardinals, just to prove to them that they shouldn't have given up on him.

The wrath of most of the Cardinal fans came down not on the entire team, but on Deke Taggart for not bringing home the World Series title. For the most part, Deke has handled it well, though there do seem to be times that he is ready to break. The only way that he can think of to get the hatred to stop would be to win the World Series this year, and that is what he has his sights set on.

After years of waiting, Marty Mueller finally reached the potential that everyone hoped he had last season. While he is still not the most recognizable Cleveland player, he is one of the best. His play has also set him apart, and with many other solid young players on the team, most Indian fans are dreaming of multiple World Series titles, so it is now up to Marty and the rest to handle the pressure and deliver.

There are young players that are struggling to find where they belong, and then there is Juan Carrillo. At just 25 years of age, the young first baseman may already be one of the top players in the league, and he knows it. He is content to at least wait another season in Chicago for some possible signs of life, but if the Cubs have another down year, their excellent young superstar might be looking for a way out of town.

Time might be starting to run out for the once promising pitcher from Brooklyn. Gabriel is starting another season down at Class AAA, and if he doesn't start to show signs of improvement soon, the Red Sox could release him from his contract. From what has been said, he is in great shape to start the season, but Boston can not be happy about spending the first pick in the 1920 draft on someone who has yet to find their stride.

Much like Valiente, there is talk of James Bell already reaching his limits with the Red Sox. His batting average has decreased in each of the past three seasons, and while his speed is still respected across the league, there is very little else for opposing teams to be afraid of. He seems to be on a longer leash than Valiente, but Boston is going to want to see improvements very soon, or else he could be looking for a job as well.

Aside from his multiple injuries every season, there is nothing to dislike about Jud Wilson. He has become a fan favorite in Cincinnati, despite his race, and has most Reds fans thinking about a World Series appearance in the near future. If Jud can stay healthy, that might not be too far off base, but a lot depends on his rather weak health record.

The bad news for Alec is that he has yet to find his stride in Cleveland. The good news is that he has a large amount of good young players helping him, and that he is still quite young. While he has yet to reach his potential, most people in Cleveland believe that it is only a matter of time, especially when he is surrounded by some of the best young hitters in the game. Most also believe that Alec is the final piece to the World Series puzzle, so while it appears that there is extra pressure on him to perform, he seems to be up for it.

In two years, Daron has gone from one of the best prospects in the major leagues to being a player lucky to see the field once a month. No one is quite sure what happened along the way, but most people believe that both the Tigers and the Cardinals botched his development and have left him a shell of what he once was. There is still a chance that he could become a solid player, but it will take a lot of work from St. Louis to make that happen.

Jack Witt, 1B-Chicago Cubs

Jack Witt spent all of last season down in Chicago's Class A system, and there is little to suggest he will do otherwise this year. He still has a lot of time to go before he becomes a major league ready player, and there is also that issue of Juan Carrillo blocking his path to first base. Right now, he is still a Cub, but there is a good chance that he will break into the big leagues with another team.

I just have one other thing that I would like to ask the people that read this dynasty.

I was wondering if there is anyone that reads this that could help me figure out how to get all the HTML player info pages and things like that online so that I wouldn't have to format the stat pages for every update. I'm not worried about a website for hosting, since I have that already, though if you have one that you like and think it would be good for me, please suggest it.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to get those pages online and hosted, could you please send me a PM with details, or any questions you have of me about it? I would really appreciate it, and I would love to cut hours out of the typing part of this dynasty.

Might try posting that request in general discussion or mods section, might find more people who would know how to do it. Also try PMing some other dynasty writers maybe?

Boy...I never thought I would have to write this.

I know my updates to this had been few and far between lately, but I was still set on continuing this dynasty into the future. However, my computer had other ideas. It started out slowly, a freeze up here and there, a need to reset, but nothing too serious, at least I thought.

Last week, that all changed. I was sitting at my desk, working, when I got the blue screen of death. I figured it was no big deal and just restarted, figuring it would fix itself. I was wrong. I could not get the computer to boot back up without getting the blue screen of death. I called up one of my friends and asked them what to do. They came over and took my computer, telling me they would look at it. I stayed online with my roommate's computer, but I held out hope that mine could be fixed.

I just got it back today, after five days without it. It works now, but the memory was fried. I wasn't really listening when he explained it all to me, all I know is that everything I had on it is gone. My music, my files, all of it. Most importantly, this dynasty was erased, wiped into the cyber graveyard with so many other things.

I am so sorry that it came to this, I really am. I loved doing this, and will probably start up another one some time soon, it just sucks right now. I want to thank you guys for reading along the whole time and for entering in your players. I'm really going to miss doing this dynasty, it was a lot of fun.

So...that's it. I hate for it to end this way, but there's nothing I can do about it now, aside from back up my files over and over again from now on. Thank you all once again for reading, and once I get everything back in order on this machine, I may very well throw my hat back into the dynasty ring.

I'm sorry to hear your computer crashed. It's a crappy feeling knowing everything you had on your computer is gone forever.

It's been five years, but I just wanted to say that I had a Christian Gray around before it was popular.
