Bench Coach and Depth Chart
I'm not sure if this is a bug or if this is a mod request. I'm new to the game (addicted right away) but I don't understand what the point of taking the time to set the depth charts and rotations if the bench coach can change it all on his own, seemingly with each new email. He keeps putting an RP with an endurance of 1 into my starting rotation, as an example. Maybe I need to fire the guy? I just seem to be spending all of my time re-adjusting my depth chart.
Now, having the bench coach adjusting the batting order according to my depth chart and how guys are hitting? That would be cool. I'm running a powerbook g4 with the most up to date OS. I downloaded the software yesterday (April 30). Its a really great game, guys, thanks. Cheers! |

In your Team Control Settings(Under Manager/Options), make sure that you have selected yourself as the one in charge of setting lineups/depth/pitching staff.

I just downloaded and started playing 2007 today. Have checked for updates and am running the latest version. I created the game in Advanced Mode selecting all the available standard leagues. The only changes I made were to update all the names of teams".
The team control settings have "Setting Lineups/Depth/Pitching Staff" set to myself and not the AI. I am not playing in Commissioner mode. This has been previously raised in http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=145023 As previously mentioned it is incredibly frustrating to have to change depth charts back every 3 days and makes playing as a minors manager almost impossible. I, too, have the manager settings set to 'me' and not the AI. I am running a rookie league and this is really starting to drive me nuts. I'd like to sim a few weeks so that I don't have to play every game but cannot trust the bench coach not to mess up my lineup or my rotation.
Thanks for your time. TH |

I'm not guaranteeing this will work, but it's something you can try: Fill out the seven day lineups. If it does work, then you'll only have to repeat weekly. If it doesn't, then what's happening is a recurrence of a bug that's been claimed fixed in Patch one, but wasn't, and is again claimed fixed in Patch Two.
What's probably happening is that every time anything happens to any player on your team (promoted, demoted, injured, etc.) it invalidates the lineups, depth charts and pitching rotations that you've set. Knowing this won't help anything, but it might make you feel better, as might knowing that this bug doesn't affect you if you manage a major league (or IL level, or independent minor) team, only an affiliated minor. |

Glad to hear it, Joe. I'm going to close out this thread as a result. If you have trouble with the issue in the future, please ask a moderator to re-open it.
