When most of the fighters you are ranking are decent fighters the rankings can be volitile.

EDIT: Cleveland Williams was probably done in by his lose to Lamon Brewster.
But if it's the end of season tournament, wouldn't it make more sense to just take the top scoring fighters from each division during the season?

Plus, when you throw in the fact that there is an extreme difference in perf points between the top fighters and everyone else. In the FWs, the number 1 guy had 471 points more then the 10th ranked guy as of the last database update. So if a guy gets upset his ranking is going to plummet. Prince Charles Williams lost 621.13 points in one fight this year.

Now that is a question for the commish to answer next time he's on.

The Beavers regret trading Quintana away. Dan's gotta be really pleased with this 6 rated fighter's performance. Congrats!

If any fighter has a gripe, it's gotta be Stockholm's Jimmy Carruthers, who somehow missed the Bantamweight cut.

I actually like to see the crazy ratings and how some unworthy guys get a shot in the tournament. It kind of gives us the vibe that some organizational sanctioning body is screwing with the ratings.

If anything, it allows for us to have something to bitch about.

I also like the fact that anyone has the chance of getting screwed in the tournament when 2 of your guys get stuck facing off in the first round.

Just more to bitch about. If there was nothing to complain about, what fun would this all be?

I have seldom agreed with real life rankings :}, so the in game rankings seem to be just about right. I like the uncertainty of it.

Extremely pleased. I'm shocked that he managed to finish the season on top of the Silver Conference and I'm hoping he can continue to overachieve next season.

I like the rankings as well cause as no one is ever completely assured of making the tournament, expect for Walker. However, having two of your guys face off in the first round sucks. I had it happen to me twice in a row with Candido Tellez and Hugo Soto and it's no fun.

Begin OT

I'd just like to mention that the Golden State Warriors are now one win away from eliminating the Dallas Mavericks from the NBA Playoffs.

End OT

I've spoken to Jimmy and his opinion about the whole thing is that the real reason for that is that people are a bit scared of what he could do to the other fighters.

Anyway, he is now going to use the break for some golf and the ususal brunches at the tennis club...

Congrats KC. Now that my boys, the Heat, got swept I hope you don't mind if I jump on the bandwagon and start for the Warriors to take the title. Since my boys can't win the thing it would be nice to see a team that has been down for so long take it.

Cool. I just wish I'd been able to watch the games. Over here our cable provider is showing just two games a week during the playoffs so I've had to settle for a couple of minutes of highlights on Sportscenter. I'm thinking there might be some files on youtube, so I'll give that a try.

EDIT My wife is a Heat fan, Wade being her favourite player.

Yeah, I'm in pretty much the same boat as you in that I can't watch the games. I don't have cable at all so when the guys are on TNT or ESPN I'm screwed. I'm now downloading the games off of bittorrent. I usually have to wait a day before I can see them so I have to avoid pretty every sports site on the web as to not get spoiled but it's better then nothing.

Your wife is a smart one and she has damn good taste. I have a huge non-sexual man crush on Wade that dude is amazing.

LOL. That brought to my mind instantly the Seinfeld episode when George is friends with Elaine's cool boyfriend Tony and Jerry says "I think George has a non-sexual crush on him".

With all those injuries, it just wasn't meant to be for the Heat this year. A lot like the Australian Rugby League team I follow, the Wests Tigers. The similarities are uncanny. They won the Championship unexpectedly in '05 and then had a horror run with injuries last season and missed the playoffs. Hopefully the Heat can bounce back next year although I'm a bit worried about them 'cause they ain't getting any younger.

My Pacers didn't make the playoffs and may be in for a lean year or two since they don't own their draft pick unless it is a top 3 pick this year.

Yeah,I love the NBA,but my team.....yes...the Atlanta Hawks..LOL. I have loved the Hawks since I was a teen and first got WTBS. I remember watching Dan Roundfield,John Drew,Eddie Johnson and company, then on to the glory days(if you call em that..LOL)with Dominique,Willis and crew. Too bad they played during the time of Celtics,Lakers,Bulls and Pistons..some great teams in the 80's and 90's. I just enjoy watching the playoffs, not really cheering for anyone at the moment. I love watching Kobe, but the Suns are really looking strong. Should be a very good playoff. By the way Mike, tough break not making the playoffs...you had a great year my friend and done one helluva job with the MexiVilles. Good luck to all of the UTBA playoff participants.

The Hawks have the Pacers first round pick as long as it's not in the top 10. So the Hawks may have two lottery picks.

I try to keep a balance between beginners and prime fighters so my team won't all go post at the same time. I will look to add 1-3 beginners again this year.

Cotto going into the tank for the last 3-4 matches just killed me. He was Rookie of the Year over the first half of the season.

De La Hoya has already been dealt and I'm looking to get rid of Mcgovern also.

Yep. Pacers are my team as well, thought there wasn't much there to root for this year. I hope they didn't miss their chance - they look like a team on the decline.
