Very disappointing. But looking at our points scored and win-loss record, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Good luck to the Undisputed champions and congratulations on winning the division. It was an exciting season-long struggle.

Congrats Chris. It looks like little Connecticut is fared quite well this season. An all-Connecticut final would be great to end the season (but I don't have high hopes since my squad just doesn't match up well against the other heavy hitters in the Gold Conference)

The Oakland Assassins have improved quite a bit and seem to be on the right track.

Mark, I may have to schedule a meeting with you and your fighters this off-season concerning the dirty tactics your fighters seem to use in the ring.
I think I'll sit down and talk to myself as well. My fighters seem to have the same fouling traits.
Man, nice comeback, LI. I seem to be leading the league in DQ's and chokes. Just look at some of those results. Strange stuff. And just when I'm ready to chuck my heavyweights, they go 4-0. Going to have to really mull over the draft options ...

PfP

I've exchanged emails with SAL regarding the possible addition of a Pound for Pound weight class. He asked me to post the ideas for general discussion.

With this PFP idea the roster size for each team would be expanded to 18 to include a PfP class.
Salary caps per team would need to be raised to accomodate. Average is 6.5 so about 118 for cap with the new class.
Ali, for example, could fight as a 15 HW or as a 15 PfP at the discression of the team owner for each particular season. (I haven't thought out split weight class guys like Archie Moore or Dick Tiger but even if a manager were free to use either rating salary cap issues would still be involved.) There would be more unpredictibility because if some one was to draft Duran they possiby use him in multiple ways, PfP or his own class. The draft would be a little less predictable according to team's specific weight class needs.
People would not know where a fighter would be placed as far as weight class until the day that rosters are set which would make things a little interesting for the owners.
We could possibibly introduce the PfP gradually by allowing team's to hold one pick from the upcoming draft as an inactive future and then add some additional fighters to the following year's draft before kicking off the new weight class.

Well at least we didn't completely choke this year. Cotto really went in the tank down the stretch this season.

McGovern is on the trading block, Cotto has one more year to turn it around.

Close, and to be honest I didn't expect it. I though I would fall just short and next year would be my year. Woohoo. Sorry we both couldn't get it. :[

3 fighters career stages advancing in the final match should help a little in the playoffs.

Thanks Kenyan!

The results this week have been stunning. I was certain after seeing my results you were in. Not sure how Hoosier pulled a 40 point swing on you r from one meeting until the next.

Damn, tough break KC. I thought you guys had it won but it wasn't to be sadly. Still great year for the Assassins and y'all have come a long way from where you started.

Looks like Mr. Webb has put together a hell of a team. If I'm not mistaken they've just completed the best season ever for an expansion team.

Congrats Claybor on taking the division. Good Luck in the playoffs.

Man, Mike that sucks to have the kind of run you did this year and still miss the playoffs in the final week. One of these seasons you've got to win one of these important final week matches. Better luck next season.

It would have been nicer to score up in the mid-high 50s but I'll take this. Now I just need the Beavers to hold Tile Hill to 36 or less points. They did it in there first match but I'm not holding my breath on them doing it again. I've never awarded a fighter of the week and I probably won't do it again but I have to give Donald Curry props for scoring two KO1s. I didn't know he had it in him to pull off that feat, he must really be pounding those wheaties.

An I91 final sounds great to me Dave!

Congrats to all the winners, I am thrilled to make the post season at long last! Hope it lasts - jbergey's team beat the tar out of mine in week one and three straight wins over Icetea seems unlikely, so I am not holding my breath for the finals.

The rosters, title lineage, final standings, waiver rank, schedule links and draft order have been updated.

The Top 20 ranks will be updated in the next 24 hours along with the individual tournament brackets and betting log.

Reminder that the waiver wire is closed and will remain so until the draft is over and Antwerp Southpaws have their roster set.

Also, please check the draft order and make sure it looks right. There were a lot of draft pick trades and I just want to make sure I got it all down.

The draft/free agent pool will be updated after the individual tournaments. That will be when I add the new fighters plus the fighters from Long Island's roster to the pool.
