I know this was pointed out above and I know it was a total mistake but I'm still laughing my head after reading it 5 mins ago.

Is there anyway we can shift your responsibilities to other community members who have volunteered their time?

from what I've read we've had countless contributors already, there can't be THAT much left.

Maybe somebody can tie the final thing together. Who knows how long it will take for your elbow to heal. based off the amount of views this thread has received there is a VERY LARGE number of people anxiously awaiting the release of this thing.

Wondering as well. I'd be willing to help finish it as well as a bunch of others I'm sure. I'm guessing the worst case scenario is that releasing a rough copy would allow others to create some different sets for everyone to try.

Is anybody else starting to worry about Erich? Infections can be serious things and we haven't heard an update on his health in a while...

Just to let you know I am still alive, going to the doctor tomorrow to see what is going on. Elbow is still mushy and swollen two weeks into it and my meds ran out last night, so I have no idea what is going on.

I do try to keep a low profile on the board, but there are people trying to get the file set to at least release a beta version so that people can start playing around and changing things to their liking. I will say that out of the chute I am not completely happy with the file but that it will at least quell some of the people that are saying that it isn't going to appear.

I know that a couple of people seem to think that making the roster file is an ego thing, but then again those people don't know me very well. I do this for fun, granted the amount of pressure and stress I put up on myself to put out a quality set can be debilitating at times. Not to mention my job, wife and kids tend to need my time. But for those of you who do want to create your own files please feel free to use this as a template to build it the way you think it should be, all I ask is that you notate where the original data came from.

I will probably be continuing to work on the file going forward as I will want it correct for myself and for anyone who wants to use it when I get it to that point. The reason that I try not to just release pieces and chunks of it out to the masses is that I am usually working on a different version of the game than most people, whether it be because I have or haven't updated to the newest patch or beta version. So it makes it very difficult to just put things out there for people to work on. Then a great deal of it is done in spreadsheet and text files and those have farmed out a bunch of to people, but then it all has to come back to me to be imported so that it is matched up with the right version of the game.

I would be happy to teach anyone out there how to make the rosters and then they can see how long it takes. I know this year that I have been fortuante enought to meet a couple of people on the board who have been instrumental in making things work easier so that future versions of the game ahve better roster files quicker. There is still one enormous piece that has to be simplified before this will ever become a quick and easy thing to do.

So don't worry I am still around just the elbow hasn't gotten much better in the past week. Granted the infection seems to have subsided back to just the elbow after almost reaching my wrist and halfway to my shoulder. Hopefully the doctor will tell me something positive tomorrow.

Dude are you typing one handed?? Thanks for being so verbose!

Thanks also for being so gracious with your roster when it does come out. You rock. Look forward to the roster set, and keep a chin up cuz you've got plenty of supporters...

The way I look at it, the season is only one month old. Even if they aren't out for another month, it's still early. Also, I look at OOTP07 as a long term game commitment. I imagine I'll be playing this one for quite a while. So, whenever it gets done, it gets done.

I realize it was purposely left out when the first beta was released, but I was wondering if there was just a sense it would be realeased, whether you thought it'd be about a week or about month, just curious.

Thanks for all your help.

And remember, last year's version of OOTP wasn't even released yet at this point. So technically, we didn't have rosters by last May either

I'm pretty sure it's not shelved, Erich would tell us if it was.

This is not shelved. With the two other sets coming out this weekend, I decided to spend a little time finding the players that are missing from the set.

Just a quick update for me because many of you have IM'd asking about my health. Things have gotten better with my elbow, the infection is gone, it still has fluid in it, bursitis is now what the doctor is telling me I have. That will take three months or so to go away, but it doesn't really affect me doing things unless I bang it on something and that usually will hurt a lot but I try not to do that too often :P.

Thank you to all the people who have been showing concern for my health, I do appreciate it.

Good deal Erich...

I've looked at the other sets and it will tide people over. I will most likely be waiting on your set to start my dynasty as I know the depth and quality will be the best this year. (not knocking the other sets at all) It's just I feel they are 4 star prospects while yours is a 5 star stud prospect...

You never realize how many times a day you smack your (elbow, toe, hand, etc.) on until it's hurt do you?

I'm looking forward to the depth of your set but it's good that we have a couple of rosters out to tide us over. Now you can get yours done the way you want.

Get one of those giant elbow armor guards Bonds wears on his arm when he bats. Chicks dig 'em.

Get better soon.
