I'm afraid you're right about Wright. The Cinderella story is over, probably. He had his chance, and unless Hughes, Clippard, and the other guys at AAA bomb, he's probably not going to get another at his age. Not without even a full season at AA, much less AAA.

I've often thought about guys like him. Is it better to have had the thrill of beating Cleveland the other night, or is it better to never been that close to your dream of a major league career and have it slip away? That guy will probably never have another moment in his life as exhilarating as being on the mound just that one time in Yankee Stadium. Is that good or bad?

Well he's certainly on pace to hit about 100 home runs.

You pick any team in the majors, take away 4 of their starting pitchers and their everyday left fielder who happens to be one of their run producers and tell me how many wins they'll have. The Yankees are lucky that Arod's on this tear or they'd have even less wins. If you really think the Yankees wont be in the mix come summer, then your highly mistaken

I think the more impressive stat is that he has 14 homers in 18 games while getting on base 45% of the time. If he keeps it up, and the Yankees get healthy

Agreed, a great memory to last a lifetime, if he takes it that way and does not brood over what could have been.

The Yankees could have sent Hughes back to Scranton, due to yesterday's rainout, but they chose not to and will start him tonight as originally scheduled. That shows me they don't think at least one of Pavano, Karstens, or Igawa is going to work out this year.

Well, here's to this week's rookie starter debut! This should be interesting. Please, God, no back to back to back to back you know whats.

This also allows them to throw Pettitte at the Red Sox on Friday instead of tonight. I think it's a good move. They already recalled him and got him all worked up for this start. Might as well allow him to show them what he's got.

Yes. Also, did you catch the decision point now created for Saturday? Joe has to decide now whether to start Igawa or Karstens. This was not an issue until the rainout and Hughes staying put.
