OOTP4 Problems

I recently upgraded to a newer, faster Gateway PC from work replacing my old computer at home. originally, our IT guys loaded Windows 2000 on it and I reloaded the OOTP4 game and loaded the new OOTP5 game on it. I spent the whole weekend transferring programs and files and before doing a backup it crashed. I was having problems burning a CD music CD and could not get it finalized to play on a car cd player. I did some research and found I needed to upgrade the software to be compatible with windows 2000 (I previously had winows 98). That is when the "blue screen of death" occurred. So, back to the IT guys and I wanted winows 98 reloaded .........and forget 2000. Last, night I reloaded the ootp4 game...........started running through our free agent draft and a multitude of problems struck me down. The game kept locking up and freezing on me. Control alt delete did nothing. I shut everything down. Checked my resolution and it is set as directed, reloaded directx version 9. Sometimes lines start appearing accross the screen in the game...then it loacks up and goes black.....can not restart. I went to Gateway's help menu and had all drivers checked .and it upgraded some drivers. I did a refrag of my disk. Reloaded ootp 4..........it shows ootp4b during loading but shows ootp4c in upper left hand corner of the game (confused on that one.) I had uploaded the league files to our website..........but half of the player.dat files seem to be missing. Now in my game...........I see little squares wher player names should be and all zeros.........only a partial list of free agents shows also..............many are missing. What is the best way to get me back on track? I have never had problems with OOTP4 before. I lost all my links in the crash to find the ootp4c patch...........i would like to dl that file. Can any one offer a step by step procedure to troubleshoot this mess. The new computer meets all the minimum requirements as spelled out in the manual. I still need to reload the OOTP5 game I just purchased.........what a mess and i am at my wits end to figure this stuff out. I don't understand graphic card and driver technology stuff. I suspect that this is the major problem with my computer. Any help is appreciated. I am at work and will get the specifics from my home computer when I get home tonight.

I did a search...nothing. I went to many of the OOTP utility sites and nothing there ?

Where is the ootp4 patch ? Many of the links are dead...where I usually find this stuff.

Please help.

so are you telling me there no longer is a ootp4c patch

that this is the latest one to use and is current

How come my old computer shows ootp4c upon loading

and the new one only shows ootp4b

I thought c comes after b this yrear

That patch is OOTP4.2b

The OOTP4.0c is an old, old patch. 4.2b was released in November 2002.

You may be seeing OOPT4 (c) on your title bar because it means:

OOTP4 (c) - Markus Heinsohn = OOTP4 (copyright) Markus Heinsohn

The Version number of the game is found only on the splash screen when you open the game.
