Lee RBI Single! Tie ball game! PIE! Hopefully we'll see LOTS more of that this year.

Haha! Cubs down by two in the 9th and Lou sends Jason Marquis up as a pinch hitter since the bench has already been completely depleted. I thought Dusty Baker was fired last year? It's fun to watch this team suffer.

With Felix Pie on the roster and off to a fine start, the Cubs have a quintet of quality OF'ers on the roster. A few suggestions for using the surplus to improve the team below.

I've always rooted for Hill because I love strikeouts and his rates in the minors have been disgusting.

Hill put on quit an impressive performance. He's got that old school style to him. I like that. So how long until he gets overworked and ends up constantly on the DL?

Dusty was fired last year. After 111 pitches, Piniella did the right thing by taking Hill out. Could have removed him an inning earlier, but apparently he was dominate.

Good work! This guy is becoming an ace.

Bottom of the 11th, tie game, runner on second, two outs... pinch hitter comes up to bat and its Jason Marquis! Not the first time this year.

Oh, by the way he struck out.

Shocking news, I realize, but Mark Prior goes under the knife. Today, Dr. James Andrews will perform exploratory arthroscopic surgery on Prior's aching shoulder. According to Jim Hendry, Prior has had discomfort in the shoulder for a couple of years.

Not that this should surprise anyone, but Prior is officially done for the year.

The Cubs announced Wednesday that Mark Prior's 2007 season is over after shoulder surgery on Tuesday.

Whether his Cubs career is over is a question no one can answer.

I hope he's done with the Cubs as well, which early indications seem to....erm.....indicate. He's been pitching with a fooked up arm for a couple of years. Time to find an employer without cranial/rectal inversion syndrome.

See if the Cubbies can extend their win streak to four tonight against the Pirates of Pittsburgh.

Lee has an off day, going 1 for 4. Soriano keeps his hitting streak going with an infield single. Hill didn't pitch all that well but the results were all that mattered. 6 innings, 6 hits, 1 walk, 1 ER. He was a matter of feet away from giving up a grand slam. Thankfully the wind was blowing in 15+ MPH in or it would've been a 'bad' game.

Ramirez's homerun was a SHOT... but it was barely gone.

Cubs win their first extra inning game and their first 1 run game. Sheesh.

Cubs could very well have the best record in baseball.. but I'll take this, too. They're hot.

I was there today. Who'd have thunk Ward would be the hero? I've been saying they should DFA him for weeks now.

The Cubs ace, Marquis, gets a complete game shutout Wednsday while the bottom of the rotation guy named Zambrano gets worked up again pretty nicely. (Granted, two of the runs were unearned and it looks like that cost them in the end.)

Is this guy just pressing too hard? Is he wanting to do so well so he gets a monstrous contract? I mean, c'mon man. Get it straight. You're going to make more than a few million a year no matter what, just pitch your game and your family will be taken care of for generations to come.
