BC Hockey coach mired in "filthy" sex scandal
Snipet:
http://news.bostonherald.com/localRe...ticleid=196576 The award-winning head coach of Boston College’s outstanding women’s hockey team resigned yesterday under the specter of sexual misconduct between him and his teenage goal-scoring machine. Hockey East Coach of the Year Tom Mutch, 39, who’s married and whose wife just had a baby, abruptly stepped down hours after the Herald began making inquiries to authorities at the Heights. Sexually graphic text messages that BC hockey star Kelli Stack, 19, allegedly wrote to Mutch were discovered on a cell phone the Hockey East’s Player and Rookie of the Year gave to a teammate, neglecting to delete them first, sources said. One source familiar with the messages described them as “filthy. They were very sexual in nature.” Sources stressed that BC’s probe had yet to find an actual sexual relationship between Mutch and Stack. But in a statement released to the Herald last night, Gene DeFilippo, director of athletics, said, “We take this matter very seriously. ================================================== ======== I don't know how I feel about this. The media has made it into a big thing in Boston. Or at least the toilet paper known as the Boston Herald has. Seems like the guy resigned awfully quickly which doesn't necessarily indicate he is guilty of having relations with the player, but makes him look guilty. The thing with me is that if he admitted to having sex with the student or was caught doing it that's one thing, but "filthy" text messages doesn't seem valid enough to me. For the record one person's version of "filthy" may contradict another hence the quotes. |

The older I get, and I'm not that old, the less I understand why a 19-year-old would interest a 39-year-old.
As much as I'd like to say they're both consenting adults and it's their private lives, I also think the coach should have known better. |

The older I get, and I'm close to 39, the less I understand why a 39-year-old married schlub with a newborn would interest a 19-year-old attractive college athlete.

Well based off of the details he didn't have any involvement since it was a one way text message to him. So he may not be at fault, but as details unfold there will probably be something to clarify his quick resignation. |

All it takes these days is an accusation to be convicted in the court of public opinion. It's pretty much standard fare to resign at the onset of a scandal now, whether or not you actually did anything wrong.
