The A/I Just Bit Me

I just completed a trade that involved a MR going to another team for a MR. I had to throw in some other players as well as a 9th round draft pick. Haggling went on for days. Finally got it accepted. Then the day after I got my new MR, his stuff and control potentials dropped 50% and the scout says he's on the downside of his career.

While it hurts, it somehow makes me like the OOTP2007 A/I even more.

It'll really burn you when the 9th round pick winds up being a 600 home run guy.

How cool would it be if the game had a "Trade Analysis" tool that you could run on any trade in the history of the game?

It would list the players in the transaction, with their performance with their new team, as well as indicating any draft picks and what player that turned into, and their stats as well.

Probably way too complex, but it would sure be cool.

I wonder if Comedian can write something...

I think the only really hard part would be tracking the draft pick. With the other players involved, you'd have their player ID so could look them up in the database and check their numbers. Then it's just a matter of coming up with some way to evaluate what they did AFTER the trade to compare them.

Oh, what an idea. I'll put that on my list of things to do next, but I work in the online world (and Perl), not sure if that's really going to work for the majority of the peeps out there. Comedian handles that stuff.

He did something like this last year. Just note that he is tied up with his business right now.

That would indeed be cool. I often try to track this by adding players I've traded to my shortlist to track them but it's cumbersome that way.

LOL roflmao what a moranz what a nincompoop. lol j/k ;0) I play on hard trade settings and I never get a square deal. I practically have to give up my 1st and/or 2nd round draft picks to get what I want anymore. Well anybody decent that is and I'm certainly going for top players considering what I have to give up. What I love is how they goto pot after I get them. I pay outstanding salaries and the next year these players play like they are in a sandlot game. Take Pujols for instance I just signed him to a 10 year deal at a little over 11 mil a year and the past 3 years he's been batting over .300 and this year at the end of April his ba is .111 lol no home runs hardly any rbi's and runs. Alex Rodriquez batted .220 last year, still popped 39 hr's though, but, still. .220??!! I find myself scrambling every year in july for some hitting and pitching to fill the spots that aren't producing what their ratings and stats say they should. I've found free agents with high 30's and mid 40's who have better years than some star players albeit only 1 year and the next year they are ****e again. lol

Once again another year where I had the best overall team though and get beat out in the damn playoffs once again. Prior suks in the playoffs. A 20 fricking game winner during the year and he can't win a GD playoff game. lol
Gotta love this game eh?

I do that too. One of my leagues is small enough that I just check their box scores when I check the ones for my team. Add this one to my wish list!
