Draft & Release instead of Sign & Release?

I tried a search for this and didn't find anything... but there was a year in my simming (1961 if it matters) that every first round pick that was drafted was immediately released by his team. It also happened randomly in other years prior to that, though not every first rounder, just random Draft & Releases.

Before I spotted this, I kept getting illegal roster errors, so eventually turned on ghosts. I don't remember if I did that before or after the great 1961 massacre, but I can't find an instance that the Draft & Release happens after 1961. Does not enabling ghosts cause a Draft & Release bug? Has anyone else seen a Draft & Release issue?

I saw it once, but for me it was related to having minor league roster limits that were too small. So when the draft happened, the teams were already at their limits and they had nowhere to stick the newly drafted players.

What else can you tell us about your league?

The league consists of one ML, AAA, AA, A, S A, Rookie, COL, and HS. It started in 1945, and I've simmed every year up to 1965. This draft & release occured randomly (though at least once a year) up until 1961. I haven't found an incident of it since then.

Every roster limit is set to 25 (ML expanded 40) except Rookie which has a limit of 45. This occured without ghost players and I was getting a few illegal roster size errors for not having enough players on some of the Rookie league teams. So I don't think it's because the teams were too full (maybe it is, but this seems unlikely).

So I guess it was 1962 that had the first year of the ghost players.

Any other info that would help?
