Left Jab Inc put up a really good fight this time against Tomato City. The roster changes made (except for Newsboy Brown) have definitely improved the team. I was really shocked that Miguel Callist TKO'd Diego Corrales as well as the lack of KO's my team had this week.

Looking forward to the rematch in Week 9, but I really think that both the Muckboys and Tomato City have a shot at the playoffs.
Thanks for the kind words. My season has been a very disgusting one,but I think that I have learned a valuable lesson. I will not go overboard in the offseason. I tinkered a little too much. I really thought that I would turn in a sophomore season similar to Bears last season, however,it wasnt to be. I think Sal has done a remarkable job with the Mitt Slingers and he is this years Bear..lol. At least I was halfway competitive in that match. My additions the last few weeks should help next season. I finally have a little something to brag about besides my heavyweights..Milt McCrory is the first ever Champion to come out of Left Jab Inc. Well, congrats to Tomato City and Muckboys..should be an interesting finish guys. It looks as if the UTBA title is really up for grabs this season..several teams have a legit shot. Anyway, take care guys..hope everyone had a nice and safe holiday. Peace.

Final Score:
Bears Unstable 16-16-0 (10) (DQ-1) = 41
Boxing Kangaroos 16-16-0 (13) = 45
==================================[/quote]

Congratulations to the Kangaroos on winning this one. It is usually the Unstable that comes away from a match with more KOs.

I have some mixed feelings about this. I see the definite need to freshen up the waiver pool by removing dead wood and don't want to argue this point but I would like to stretch the meaning of "inactive" to also include drafted fighters who for whatever reason never made a roster. At least some interest was shown in these guys even though they may not have made a team's active roster due to cap issues. Invitited to training camp should count for something. This might be a little bit of a quibble but I think that guys who someone was interested in enough to spend a draft pick on should stick around in the pool a bit longer. The guys who have records are, for the most part, losers but there are a few potential gems or cap-savers still in the pool. I'd recommend the Bear's eyeball test on talent. Is a fighters total points scored three times his boxer rating? It's my quick and dirty measure on a fighter's productivity. I look at this before I consider level of compition as in the case of beginners, who have to experience their growing pains before they can be measured for production.

The waiver/draft pool needs some cleaning up. The easiest way for me to do it will be to retire inactive fighters since season 1 with a record. The other inactive fighters (no record) since season 1 would be returned to the Mens group and be available to be brought back in the draft pool at some point and time. As far as looking at any other parameters for retiring fighters, I'll need someone else volunteer to take on that task as I don't have the time for that.

I'm also in favor of the "Mandatory Retirement" Rule for any fighter who has been Inactive for 3 complete seasons and is not re-drafted before the beginning of the next season. Based on this criteria, there appear to be only 20 fighters which qualify - as long as they are not re-drafted and make a team roster for Season 5:

Heavyweight:

(3) Willie Fischer 1-12-1 (1)

Light Heavyweight:

(3) Paul Murdoch 0-13-1 (0)
(3) Albert Finch 1-11-2 (0)
(4) Andy Kendall 4-12-0 (1)

Middleweight:

(5) Peter Manfredo Jr 2-12-0 (2)

Welterweight:

(3) Joe Curcio 1-12-1 (0)
(4) Rev Santillan 3-11-0 (2)
(5) Angel Espada 3-8-3 (0)
(5) Steve Halaiko 4-10-0 (2) 1DQ

Lightweight:

(3) Steve Murray 3-11-0 (1)
(3) Lazlo Bognar 0-14-0 (0) 1DQ
(4) Renato Cornett 2-10-2 (1) 1DQ

Featherweight:

(4) Jorge Solis 4-10-0 (3)
(4) Billy Calvert 5-9-2 (1)
(5) Jose Legra 2-10-2 (1)
(6) Percy Lewis 4-9-1 (0) 1DQ

Bantamweight:

(3) Carlos Madrigal 2-14-0 (1)

Flyweight:

(3) Netrnoi Sor Vorasingh 2-11-1 (1)
(3) Joe Curran 2-9-3 (1)
(3) Pedro Flores 3-11-2 (1)

Calvert, Haliako, Kendall and the flies are the only guys that pass my "eyeball" test. The rest unlikely to be picked up unless someone is badly in need of cap room.

My 2 Cents on This ...

... as an expansion team this year, I was glad to see that there were a few fighters of various ratings in the free agent pool with some age on them that could be picked up in the expansion draft or through a trade with an existing team to fill out a roster and quickly get up to 105 pp. I would like to see some rule where you don't delete these guys until you have maybe one of each of the basic rankings (say 2 through 9) in the pool. I.e., if turned out that a particular boxer were the only one in that weight class of a particular rating with any age on them, I would say they should remain in the pool.

I am not in the habit of naming fighters of the week for Hebron, but I was so pleased with this guy that I just have to make this one exception:

Pakistani middleweight Ilyas Ahmed contributed 2 points to the Haymakers' last win and has the distinction of being named the only fighter of the week in team history.

Hopefully those two moves I've made will help my team in the final three weeks, all of which are vital divisional matchups. I've added some experience and have now got seven guys at Prime, only one Beginner and the rest at Pre-Prime.

My mistake. Tommy still has three weeks to take over the wildcard spot trailing only by 142 points.

I just had a look back at my original roster from season two and there's only five guys left on my team from it:

Cleveland Williams
Jeff Harding
George Benton
Louis Molina
Efren Torres

They've been with me for this long, maybe I'll decide to keep them for the rest of their careers...

Trade.........................

Another move by the Haymakers.

After the season, Hebron sends Young Griffo to Kalink's expansion franchise in return for the Antwerp Southpaws second round pick next season and a fighter to be named later.

Your post made me go back to look at how many original guys I still had left. I also only have five guys left.

Edwin Rosario
Jose Medel
Pete Frissina
Candido Tellez
Hugo Soto

Frissina spent some time on the Haymakers due to one of the dumber moves I've done. I really doubt that Tellez, Medel, or Rosario will ever leave my roster until they retire. I've rode them this far might as well go all the way to the end with them.

Nice pick up for Kalink in that trade. Young Griffo should serve as a nice centerpiece for his team in its first few years.
