What happened to Michael Bentt (and other fighters that you might think of)?

I came to think of Michael Bentt when I looked at Herbie Hide's record on boxrec.

What happened to him. Did he quit after his loss against Hide?

His father won the NYS Lotto early in his career. He was a near great amateur but was rather average as a pro with the exception of his win over Tommy Morrison. A guy that was an amateur around the same time I was lost to him in the 1988 Olympic Trials (Tim Igo).

There is an entry for him in Wikipedia that reports on his current activity as an actor and essayist.

I think he was forced to retire following the Hide fight. Suffered a serious head injury if memory serves me correctly.

I could see where getting hit by Hide for 7 rounds would cause that. Riddick Bowe has often stated that Hide was the hardest puncher he ever faced. I do remember that his dad won the lotto either before his pro career began or during the end of his amateur career.
