Fantasy Drafts in Manager Mode
I ran into this problem last night when trying to start a new league. I did manage to solve it on my own, but thought it should be mentioned here.
I began with a MLB league that I had saved off as a startup league in OOTP4. I converted the league to OOTP5, and then went in and changed some league settings. I clicked on "Reset->Release All->Fantasy Draft" so that I'd be able to use a smaller league but have all the players available. After doing this, I decided I only wanted 16 teams, so I deleted some teams, and then moved all the other teams into a single division in each league. In the process of doing this, I had to add "New Team" to the division, and then exchange with the team I actually wanted there (as an aside, is there a way to avoid that?). Now BEFORE I went to my fantasy draft, I created a manager and chose a team. I went into the draft, and saw that my team had the 5th pick, but I didn't see that there were several "New Team" 's listed in the draft order that no longer existed. I started my draft, and the game crashed out on me. I tried to go back in again, and as soon as I clicked the fantasy draft button, I got the same crash. The next time I went in and checked all the teams for players. Only one team had drafted anybody, so this was a little confusing. Somehow I was able to go into the draft and see the pre-draft screen, and that was when I noticed the "New Team" 's that were still in the draft order. I was unable to restart the draft or randomize the draft order, most likely because I was in Manager Mode, but I still couldn't get into the draft. Solution: In the end, I retired my manager, who hadn't managed a game yet anyway, and then clicked the "Reset->Release All->Fantasy Draft" button. Now that I no longer had a manager going, it let me do all the changes I needed. After randomizing the draft order several times, I created a new manager and then all was good. I hope this helps anyone who has similar problems. Let me know if there are any questions.
