3066 Repeating error, then crash

Just to make sure I understand the error correctly, that's this one:
Crash with "add_line_to_txt_file" error. Actually has a couple TTs on it and has been claimed fixed a few times, but keeps cropping up.

Also, you have installed the latest patch, right?

Anyone else still having this problem? I think it's a hard one to track down.

This is the one, and with the patch installed.

It seems to crash with this error after approx 22000 players have been generated over a period of years:

A 32 team ML with full minors and feeders after 15 years,

A 10 team ML with 200 college teams after 10 years,

A 24 team ML with full minors and feeders after 20 years.

When the news folders are emptied, all carries on for similar amounts of years, until the magic approx 22000 player histories appera in the news folders.

Thanks for the information. I updated the information in the TTs and hopefully they can track down what's causing this.

I am also still experienceing this error after the patch, with a new league. I have to say I am very pissed off with this as this was allegedly fixed in the patch but obviously hasn't been and has made the game completely unplayable for me since purchase.

Hit me in this game after 30 years of simming in a universe with a 30 team ML and three levels of minors.

This bug is sooo hard to recreate... Never had a chance to recreate it. It's working well on most computers. I can only search the code for possible issues and try to make it safer And when I find something I set the bug to Claimed Fixed so that you test it again. I'm really sorry!

When this happens, please send me the league files and the complete news folders and files to the FTP server.

I have sent a file of a crashed game directory (the whole thing, including txt files)
It is called shefffred3.lg.zip

Works fine here, I've simmed > 40 years in debug mode. Will try release mode now to make sure. I fear it's a problem with another program or setting on your computer.

Hmmm, FAT32.... I've tested on a NTFS drive... anybody else experiencing this problem and running OOTP on a FAT32 drive?

I've simulated again using the patch exe and it worked w/o problems again:

Wow, shefffred, that FAT32 idea did it. On FAT32 it breaks after a month with a "too many open files" error. Working on a fix now.
