OK, nicknames issue fix should make it into first patch.

I think the window is just about closed on anything else tho'.

I still have nicknames, it's just the only ones I allow in the game are the ones I manually assign (when playing fictional that is). I like them to actually, you know, earn the nickname through their play or whatever story happens to pop up in my head.

Instead of having an empty nickname file, just have one with about 20 or so nicknames that consist of a SPACE.

That way, when it grabs a nickname, it will be an empty nickname.

But if it is Bill Lee, change his nickname to " " & man

This is still not working for me post patch Battists (reimporting names does NOT fix problem even with empty nicknames.txt file).

Can you please re-state the problem, just so I'm 100% clear?

Re-importing the names database will NOT remove existing nicknames. However, when new players are generated, they should NOT have nicknames.

Sure Steve,

I load my template (created pre patch)- then create the game (after installing patch)...Of course the names of my feeder league players have nicknames. I delete all the players from my feeder leagues. I re-import the names database- and then refill the feeder leagues with new players....Since the game has to create some 3000 players for the feeder leagues, I was hoping it would use the re-imported names file to do so- but it still isn't working for me.
