Garko just lined a pitch off of Buehrle's left hand, and Mark had to leave the game.

Unreal. Throw a ball into center on a pickoff and then plunk in the winning run without getting an out. Roberto, I hate you.
P.S. - Cleveland, get a closer. |

Thursday April 5th: Cleveland 3, ChiSox 4
This is good, in a way. This relieves us all from the stress of a possible 162-0 season. Now we can relax.
On the other hand, this game sucked. The bright spots: Grady going yard again. Sowers was nowhere near his best (5 BB and a HBP in 6 innings), but he made the big pitch when he needed to. That's how the good pitchers win a lot of there games. Not with the dominant performances, but with the average performances where they are forced to dig down. Fultz looked good, or sounded like he looked good, as I heard most of the game on the radio. The bad: Johnny Peralta Andy Marte Roberto Hernandez Chalk this loss up to Hernandez. Give up back to back hits to start the bottom of the 9th, then you throw away a pick off attempt, and after an intentional walk you hit the next batter to end the game. Apparently he was cold and just wanted to get back in the clubhouse. What I love about baseball is that there's another game tomorrow... THE HOME OPENER (and I'll get to watch it all this time, as I don't have to work!)!

Yes, who would ever predict snow in April in Cleveland? The MLB schedulers are complete jackasses.

Yeah, especially considering they are playing a team that only visits once this season so they don't have much room for a "snow out"

And they were saying that Seattle and Cleveland only share two off days this year.

I'm depending a lot of the Cleveland offense in my AL-Only league this year. Victor and Pronk are both big parts of my offense.

This is a complete screw job. Up 4-0 with bases loaded and 2 outs, a 1-2 count on the batter in the top of the 5th inning, Hargrove comes out out and convinces the umps to delay the game again, and the game has now been called and they replay the whole damn thing in it's entirety tomorrow... ONE pitch from a regulation game. This is absurd.

They have been the worst offender in the modern trend towards playing baseball games in weather not fit for man nor beast. Since Jacobs Field opened in 1994, the Indians have routinely forced their fans to sit through rain delays of two hours or more, and nasty, wet weather once the game gets underway, rather than calling the game and potentially sacrificing the ticket revenue." |

Against teams in that only come to town once in a season, whether the game is played or not is at the sole discretion of the league and the umpires. Team management or ownership has nothing to do with it.
