New to OOTP, Kinda

I'm going to slot myself as "new," even though I first played the game about three years ago. I tried it for a few weeks, got bored, and left for MVP and then The Show (MLB The Show 07 is the best console BB game ever, by the way).

I came back to OOTP to see what the hoo-ha was about (and because I was still on the mailing list, so I kept hearing about how wonderful it was going to be.)

Compared to three years ago, this version of OOTP is a slice of heaven. I am a historic simmer, and I am loving this game! I've already started two different games, one starting in 1901 with fictional teams (Illinois Baseball Association) and real players, the other starting in 1977 with my beloved Cubs.

Welcome, those who are experiencing this game for the first time. You are in for a treat!

This is interesting in that you seem to have been around for OOTP 5, missed OOTP 6.12/6.5 which many people here loved, missed OOTP 2006 which many people here hated. Now you have come back in time for OOTP 2007 which many people now think is even better than 6.12/6.5 in that it brought back features from that version and combined them with enhancements introduced in 2006.

Well, we are all "new" to OOTP 2007 in a way. Welcome back and enjoy the game.
