I had not heard this. The last I knew he was coming back from his business trip on Monday, and was going to release them.

Lay off man. He didn't know he was in the hospital. We all want a roster set but bitching back and forth isn't going to bring them along. No need to put the blame on anyone and no need for the typical comeback of "Where's your roster set at?"

Instead of the bickering, why not volunteer some time to Rolen to help him with some excel spreadsheets?

PSU is a troll plain and simple .. I wouldn't blame Erich and Pujols if they didn't release them at all. I'll refrain from what I really think of some people.

excuse me, where exactly have I been a troll?? I am sorry I was unaware that AP was in the hospital. I apologized, that should simply be the end. It's people such as yourself who take things to another level unnecessarily.

This is such old news. Deja vu too. Didn't it happen last year ?

Bottom line is this. OOTP is a great game, we all know it and love it. But they drop the ball every year when they know that much of their customer base enjoys playing with current rosters, and just expect modders to do it.

I know it's not legal, but it wouldn't be hard for them to take an active role in seeing to rosters getting done at release, and still keep their hands clean.

And .. Get well soon AP.

They pay the MLBPA. Which leaves them with no money to spend on the MLB licensce,which is why all the players have their logos and things blanked out,which makes it look horrible and fake.

No they don't. They ship the with the Lahman database. Which you can argue, is legal, but something you may not want to pay the legal fees to prove. Including the image is gonn get them into trouble, because they have no license.

Well I just tried the Baseball Mogul 2008 demo and all I did was install and play it and it came with all the real player names and pictures on the right teams. I didn't see one mention of the MLBPA either. Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

BTW~Mogul 2008,like all previous versions since 2000,sucks horribly.

And after, a little, research I have found that MLB has lost it's case - and currently businesses CAN LEGALLY use MLB names and statistics. They may be appealing, but that is neither here nor there for the current status.

Also of note, MLB lawsuit is directed at fantasy baseball (I'm assuming they want to win, and monopolize the fantasy baseball industry - or at least be able to charge the leagues.)

Can you provide a link to the ruling (did not know it had happened yet), I'd really lke to read it.

The pictures on the other hand are a lawsuit just waiting to happen...

While this is true, it holds no bearing on what is or isn't legal today. As it stands right now .. fantasy baseball leagues may freely use names and statistics (current and historic) of MLB players without consequence. If the appeal is won by MLB, well ... it won't be, but they won't be able to dig in the past and sue companies for doing something that was legal at the time they did it.

Thanks. You are really cool. I'm not bickering. I'm telling him to quit whining. I don't care about roster sets, I play fictional. See, I'm not complaining. He's not either.

How many threads now have you made negative comments about the rosters and the roster makers? I know of at least two counting this one.
