Once a player gets a major league contract, can he go back to a minor league contract?
What's the contract ruling on calling a player up from Triple A during the regular season?
I've called several guys up from Triple A during the regular season, thereby giving them a major league contract. Then I've sent them back down to the minors sometime later in the season. I checked that offseason, and for some reason these players still have "minor league contracts". Isn't the rule, once you get called up, you sign a major league contract, and even if you get called back down, you still make that major league contract? I don't know if this is a bug or I'm just unclear about the rules. Could somebody clarify? |

I did not know this was still the case in the current versions. It'd be good to determine just when that date is for planning roster assignments. Huh. Thanks, sporr.
