Quote:
I grew up on a farm in ND and my only connection to the Twins and MLB were the sprinkling of games I could get on TV (usually only 10-15 a year on the local affiliates), the Sunday sports section with all of the baseball stats in them (this was before the batting average was listed in the boxscores) and Herb Carneal and John Gordon on the radio. Listened to them announce the 1987 World Series (when I REALLY started getting into baseball) and listened to them religiously until 1991, when I moved into the "big city" of 1000 people and could actually get cable. Sometimes, I would turn Carneal and Gordon back on because I really missed them. Herb and John gave me the call of the Puckett HR in Game 6 of the 91 series while I was working. I started dancing around like a mad man! I have been away from the Midwest for close to 12 years now (on the East Coast now), but a lot of what I love about baseball I got from the radio. RIP Herb Carneal. You will be missed...

Well, there is Santana and then 4 wild cards. In my mind, Garza could be called up to replace ANYONE outside of Santana in the rotation. From the sounds of it, Slowey and Perkins are not far behind. Watch your back Ponson, Ortiz and Boof...

Don't question the Boof. He'll be in there all year. I heard someone call Garza a "young John Smoltz" earlier today. I sure would rather have that than a pitcher who is called a fat toad. It is really frustrating seeing the Twins make the same mistakes over again. Instead of Castro and Batista we have Ponson and Ortiz. The young talent just needs to get a chance.

Who was it that predicted the Liriano switch almost perfectly?

Everyone who saw Santana do the same.

Too much Ponson. Not enough Slowey.

I can't wait until that catch is on YouTube! Rondell White shouldn't be able to move like that!

Hopefully we can put up 7 runs every night; we're going to need them.

I'm glad I got Mauer and Hunter on my fantasy team, I was two picks away from getting Morneau and Cuddyer too.

You're lucky, I just missed out on some of them. I might just have to trade for them.
