GIMP question for the resident experts...
In trying to be self-sufficient with unis and logos, I've been delving into the GIMP. I've been able to accomplish plenty, but one seemingly simple function escapes me...
What do I need to do to create a colored border around the uniform script or cap logo? In the style of the attached logo? |

I don't have GIMP in front of me right now, so forgive me if this isn't quite perfect but...
On the layers menu, select 'Alpha to Selection' on the layer that you wish the border to be around. Then, on the (I think) Select drop-down menu, choose 'Grow' (it might be 'grow selection') and on the dialogue that pops up, choose how big a border (in pixels) you want. When you click ok, the area selected on the image should be further out from the image's edges. Next, add a new layer and place it below the main image. Then fill the selection with your desired colour on the new layer, and voila! Hope that makes sense, if not then I'm sure someone can explain it better when they're actually looking at the program and not going from (a rather poor!) memory. |
