Question for the Experts

Regarding the first_names.txt / first_names.dat files. My understanding is that he names.txt file is converted into a .dat file during league creation.

So here is my dilema. I heavily edited my first_names.txt file to my tastes and in doing so drastically reduced the frequency of most all names (and added about 1000 additional names). However in my edit I inadvertantly left one name (Jody if you care) at the default of 350 (Jody,350,0) so now my league is loaded with the name Jody.

I am going through and editing them and corrected the first_names.txt file, but my question is will the name now use the .dat file for future drafts in this same league or will it pull from the .txt file? If it is using the .dat file moving forward, then what is the best way to avoid a bunch of "Jody's" in next years draft or in the feeder leagues?

The game will continue to use the .dat file (with massive #s of Jodys) until you hit the "re-import name and injury databases" option on the Global Setup page. (Game menu > Game Setup, on the lower left, I think).

Problem is, there is a bug with that function that will be fixed in the first patch, that causes players named Nobody to appear if you use that function.

So, my advice is hang on for a few more days until the patch comes out, and then once you've patched, just click that reimport button, and it will "fix" your game to use your new names files!

Thanks, battists. Was about to ask about this as the 'Nobody' bug is the problem I'm having.
