League Structure Editing/Expansion Draft Question

I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about a potential expansion, including the expansion draft, for a particular league setup and need some guidance. What I will have is a 10-team league that I want to expand by 2 teams, using the expansion draft, and simultaneously split the league into 2 subleagues of 6 teams each.

My initial thought was to first edit the league structure before expanding, but I don't think that will work because the 2 subleagues would then be 5 teams each, and I need an even number of teams in each subleague. But it looks like I don't want to add my new teams during the league structure edit because then the expansion draft wouldn't work (that's how it appears to me, since it looks like you add the expansion teams during the setup of the expansion draft, which might result in duplicate expansion teams if I also add them during the league structure editing).

So, the only way I can figure to do this is to do the expansion draft first, which will create my 2 new expansion teams, then immediately following the draft, edit the league structure to create the 2 6 team subleagues. Will that work? After the expansion draft, will I still be in the offseason and able to edit the league structure?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

I always edit the league structure before expanding, that way in the expansion wizard I can put the new teams where the properly belong. You won't run into having odd number teams being an issue until you generate the new schedule. Just gen the new sched after the expansion and you will be alright.

So when I do the expansion draft and it asks me for the teams, it's OK that those teams have already been created? I was afraid the expansion draft would also create the teams, and if I've already created them in the league structure editor, that might cause an issue.

Oh, I misread your question then. You should add divisions or sub-leagues ahead of time. You then want to run the expansion wizard after doing that. That way you can place the new teams in their proper place.
